@MrsCB: I googled it and I took glyburide and that was prescribed by the Perinatologist.

@Pumpkinspice: I was curious because my endocrinologist insists that the only medication I should be on after the 1st trimester is insulin. But I'm pretty well managed on Metformin and a lot of people seem to stay on it in pregnancy with good results.

@MrsCB: No. I can't remember what the name was. I'd have to check my left over pill bottle for the name.
We also had to adjust the dose of the pills more than once and my insulin was adjusted quite a few times. But, my OB said all was normal to have to do that.

Yesterday and today I've been mostly back to normal. DH has been wonderful and insisting I take it easy in case I was getting sick. I was really worried about it getting totally out of control, but I'm feeling better about it now.

@Pumpkinspice: Were you on Metformin?

I did. My OB said that it was common to eat the same thing two days in a row and get different readings.
Also said the farther you go in your pregnancy it can start to get a bit harder to control.
I started at 11 weeks with watching my diet, by 20 weeks I was taking a pill daily, by 25 weeks or so I was on 4 shots of insulin a day.
I was worried about the insulin but I have to be honest and say that I felt 100x better after starting insulin. It finally regulated me and all was well til delivery at 37 weeks.

Not GD, but my husband is diabetic and his numbers shoot up when he gets sick, stressed, or doesn't get enough sleep.

I do, but low. I'm on 36 units of insulin.
I had an identical breakfast and snack three days in a row and was working at my job similar amounts of sitting/walking around. First two days were perfect before lunch, then day three I felt really irritable and kind of sweaty. So, I tested at lunch and was 3.2 (I think that's 57 in how US seems to measure?)

@yin: Yup, I submit weekly. I just asked the diabetes nurse that I send them to if I should be concerned. She said it could be a sign that I'm getting sick. I do feel a little off today.

Yup. I found stress did it...and lack of sleep could do it too...

I'm having similar days myself. So far I'm diet controlled at 20 weeks, and I eat pretty much the same breakfast every morning. While my scores aren't super high, they vary so much from day to day. I think it might be a sign that I need medication soon, but I'm trying to hold out. Do you submit your scores weekly? Try talking to your doctor to see what he/she thinks.

For the most part I've been keeping my blood sugar under control with diet and Metformin. But randomly today my numbers were way higher than normal before breakfast (100, usually <90). And then high again after breakfast (130, usually 115ish.) My breakfast was something I eat 3-4 times a week and never have a problem with.

Is this a bad sign that Metformin is no longer cutting it and I'll need insulin?
