@wheres_c: Thanks for the info!

Awesome that you found a PnP you can borrow! Make sure you bring enough diapers/formula in case of delays. I don't think there is anywhere in an airport that they sell them.

We are traveling internationally this summer. We aren't going to be anywhere with relatives so this is what we are doing/maybe what you can do:

Sleep:
We are taking a bjorn travel crib (been trying to find a used one for a good deal)

Because you're going somewhere that you know people, I would have them ask around to see if someone has a pnp. On our last trip we did that and a family member had a brand new one we were able to use!

Eat:
Our LO is older so this does apply to us. For you, it all depends on how accessible you think things will be. Can you just buy formula there? If not, I don't think it would hurt to take it. I also don't think it could hurt to take your pump. I'm more in the camp of preferring to be over prepared.
poop

Transport:
We are taking a carseat and stroller. I think you should consider taking a stroller also, especially a lightweight umbrella one. It's helpful for carrying other stuff, like your carseat since you'll lightly gate check it (since it's free) you can use it to push your carseat around.

Is breastfeeding in public in London ok? Or is it more conservative? I use a cover if that makes a difference.

@mrsmate: take the stroller, it is invaluable. Check the luggage at the airport and keep the stroller until you get to the gate. I took LO to England when she was 4.5 months old and would have died without my stroller. When I was ready to board, I put her I the bjorn and the flight attendant helped me fold the stroller.

Don't worry, everyone was really helpful and the flight attendants even held DD for me when I had to go to the bathroom. The other great thing is that there were mother baby rooms everywhere in London, it was brilliant!

What about ordering something like this from Amazon.co.uk?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Kite-Sleeptight-Travel-Black/dp/B001CMB2KC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1363310898&sr=8-6

I would think that would be cheaper than shipping one from here!

We are bringing a Go Crib since it can fit in luggage. They are pricey but I am hoping to use it on multiple trips.

@wheres_c: yes, definitely use the cart. What I did was check the luggage and gate check the stroller and carseat (which I didn't check in case there was an empty seat next to me). At baggage claim I'd grab a cart, load my suitcase, stroller, carseat, diaper bag (I brought a big one so I didn't have to have a separate carry-on).

@mrsmate: I'm thinking I will want a stroller when I'm there for the reasons you mention, but am not sure how I would be able to navigate through the airport with a stroller, a suitcase and LO. Perhaps if I use one of those carts?

The PNP is super bulky :( I just don't think I'll have much luck finding a borrowed one, but I guess that should be my first step. I'm not completely completely opposed to co sleeping, except I usually end up in a guest room that only has a twin bed, which wont work.

I would definitely bring a stroller. You can use it to haul a lot of stuff around, ESP the carseat.

I wouldn't bring a huge supply or diapers, just buy whatever they sell over in England. If you've had a lot of fit problems then you can probably contact pampers to see if what they have is the same as what you use at home.

Yes bring all the formula you'll need. I'd bring 2 bottles, no more.

I probably wouldn't bring the pnp. I don't have one but they look so bulky and heavy! I have a bjorn crib I took to Asia twice, which I thought was overkill at times. I'd ask your relatives could borrow one for you. Good luck!

I'll be traveling internationally to visit my family next month and am trying to figure out the logistics.

Sleep
I will be staying with family (I'm the first to have a baby)
Should I
a) buy a pack and play and have it shipped to my grandma's?
b)lug our pnp all the way to England?
c)take our rnp (lighter but not sure how it would travel.)
d)have my family ask around to see if anyone has a pnp they can borrow.
e)other?!?

Eat
Currently supplementing + BFing
a)should take enough formula for the entire trip, plus a little extra.
b)how many bottles should I take?
c)should I take my pump? or a hand pump?

poop
@ILLUMINA @ zippyleff
Are pampers "new baby" the same as pampers swaddlers? should I just order these and some wipes shipped to grandmas house?

transport
Will definitely take carseat. Should I take stroller? Seems like it might be too difficult traveling alone. LO will be 6 months old.
I plan on taking the bjorn.
Will rent a car, but mostly travel by train i think, as I feel more comfortable with trains than driving in the UK.

So many questions!
