Mine are almost 2.5 years apart but there have been a number of times I just use a single- if the toddler is walking, if I'm only taking one of them somewhere, if I'm wearing the baby. I have a vista so I just swap out the seats to make it double or single. </p> <p>Answering even though mine are a bit further apart- the things we needed were the second seat for the stroller, someplace for the baby to sleep in our room (we have a 2 bedroom so baby is with us until I trust them to share a room), and an extra changing pad. We transitioned DD1 to a toddler bed at 18 mos so we didn't need a new crib, and since they're both girls we didn't need clothes.</p> <p>All we purchased really was the double stroller, a Rock n Play because I hadn't had one with DD1 and kept hearing how great they are (and we loved it!), and an Ergo because with DD1 I wrapped and wanted a quicker babywearing set up, but that was a waste because she hated being worn. We didn't even need to get a new car seat because DD1 has been out of each one before DD2 has needed them. All the same sex.</p> <p>All we needed for #3 was another car seat.</p> <p>When I had #2, we bought another crib, another car seat, and a double stroller.</p> <p>We were able to get a stroller that had an attachment for the infant seat, and I wish we got the stroller sooner. Since we could use it with her car seat, we would have started using it day 1. We bought:<br /> Glider (Only had a crappy chair for LO1)<br /> Dresser that doubled as changing table<br /> RnP (because we moved and have 3 floors vs. 1 so I needed an extra place to put the baby<br /> Convertible car seat<br /> Second seat for stroller<br /> New pump from health insurance </p> <p>We had him in the cradle from the beginning and transitioned LO1 out of the crib by the time we needed it. Technically DS2 doesn't NEED anything, but I feel like he will always get hand me downs, so I'm trying to pick some intentional purchases just for him.</p> <p>I got a few new NB sleepers (because we never bought any for DS1 and then scrambled to buy like 3 clearance outfits once we got home because he was smaller than anyone expected), and a coming home outfit. DS1 has a few personalized PBK towels/beach wraps that we use all the time, so next time they have a sale I may pick a few up for DS2. I bought one new set of bibs since DS1 is still using his and they are a little bit stained anyway.</p> <p>Someone gave us a bassinet, so we'll use that for a while and then DS2 will go into a PNP with a mattress in it so I can avoid buying a second crib. I'll probably buy a few more pack n play mattress sheets, since I currently only have one of those. I bought a few extra sets of crib sheets from a PBK clearance because the daycare we're planning on sending DS2 to requires you to send a clean crib sheet every single day.</p> <p>We're going to wait on a double stroller. We have an UB Cruz and a Mountain Buggy Nano so technically we have 2 if we need them both, but I might ask for the ride-along board for the Cruz for DS2. If we need a legit double stroller, my plan is to sell the Cruz and Nano and buy the UB G-Link.</p> <p>We're reusing DS1's infant carseat but might buy a second base (we never bought a 2nd one with DS1). </p> <p>We never had a swing with DS1, but that may be something I could register for - MIL is going to want to buy something big as a gift. </p> <p>We'll be buying a second humidifier and Marpac Dohm. We'll just use DS1's changing pad for both boys. I might consider a wipes warmer - DS1 is 18 months and still hates cold wipes so maybe I'll finally relent. </p> <p>I need to buy new nipples for our Dr. Brown's bottles, new bottle brushes, I might buy a few small 4oz bottles, new pacifiers.</p> <p>I have the Land of Nod hanging canvas storage units in DS1's closet for his clothes, so I may get some for DS2 as well. I also have some personalized decals on DS1's walls from Etsy, so perhaps I'll get one for DS2 also. I have 1 high chair but am going to wait and see if DS1 will be using a booster by the time DS2 is ready for the high chair.
