That theory has been disproven, there were flaws in that study and they figured out what actually accounted for the speed difference - I don't remember what it was, but it wasn't anything you can control and it wasn't gender. I know for a fact that I ovulated after my IUI when my daughter was conceived, which gave more time for the girl sperm to get to where the egg would be than had if I had ovulated before the IUI.
