When we went in for an ultrasound, we were just happy the baby landed in my uterus and couldn't care less about the gender! We ended up having a boy but a girl would've been totally fine too! Then a week before my a/s I guessed girl based on the nubs in my 12w ultrasound photos, and then I sort of got used to expecting them to say girl.<br /> Ultimately, though, while we found out, it still doesn't matter.. What difference does it make? Seriously. It doesn't matter. I've seen so many people be disappointed by their child's sex, and then treat the child differently because of it. It's horribly sad, for the parents and children. </p> <p>I think the problem boils down to those long-held gender roles...girls are "supposed to be" all sugar and spice, boys are "supposed to be" wild and dirty. We've been told a couple of times now that Baby is most likely a little girl and we found that we got really attached to the idea of a daughter quickly. So much so that when my MIL pointed out the umbilical cord between babies legs and we thought it was a boy I freaked!
