The younger one doesn't pay attention, but my 4 year old understands a lot. Last year we took a trip to Disney World and drove 15+ hours. I showed him our starting point and ending point in Florida, pointing out the highways we took to get there and how many states we crossed on our way.</p> <p>We also have this fun Maps book. I'm planning on getting big maps for her playroom. We also have globes in each room as well. LO1 loves to ask about our state and where family and friends live. I also teach him about where his grandparents lived before coming to the US. They're geared for more the 9-12 age group, but we like to flip through them and look at all the pictures. I let the girls point out things they are interested in and then we talk about it a bit more. The books I have have little paragraphs (like two sentences) all around going into a bit more detail about things so I'll read that to the girls as well. I can't remember exactly which atlases we have but I just did a quick google search and they all appear to be quite similar. I'm a book person, but open to any puzzles or even apps that are not too difficult. Bonus if it includes a bit of culture too! Can be as simple as a board book or a little bit more but I don't want a bunch of long paragraphs :) </p>
