I don't have personal experience, but a friend of mine had GD with her first baby. She was overweight prior to pregnancy, and lost weight while pregnant. She controlled her GD with diet. Her baby was 7lbs and some ounces. She did not develop T2D, and she did not have GD with her 2nd baby.

I can't answer yet until my GD test in 2 days and the birth of my baby!
BUT:
My closest friend had GD and controlled it with a strict diet. She had her baby at 5 11oz full term. So her baby was tiny even with GD. She was originally overweight but didn't gain much AT ALL with baby and never developed T2D.

My mom had GD and didn't bother doing much to control it and had a 10lb110z baby 1 week past due. She was never overweight and never developed T2D.

I had GD (diet controlled, no insulin) during my pregnancy. I am overweight, and had PCOS as a risk factor as well. I was not diabetic prior to pregnancy, and am not type 2 diabetic now. My baby was 7 pounds 13 ounces at birth (at 38 weeks). I also had PIH, so that would have also impacted the birth weight.

I'm sure there's a post about this already (couldn't find via the search function though!), but I was wondering:

1. What was the birth weight of your baby after being diagnosed with GD?
2. Were you diabetic before, or newly diagnosed during pregnancy?
3. Were you were underweight, normal, or overweight before your pregnancy?
4. Did your GD go away after birth, or develop into regular type 2 diabetes?

Thanks!!
