We also have nap issues. I still have to rock B to sleep before I can transfer him to his crib. He still sleeps in me for his afternoon nap, but that is partially because I don't want to give up the snuggles.

@mdf106: I am going through this. Will only nap on me. I started laying next to her recently instead. When I get lucky I can transfer her to her crib but that is rare. Hoping to start trying that more...

We have nap issues (though different ones than yours) and I just read The No-Cry Nap Solution. The author specifically addresses your concern--I think it's worth checking out!

My son was a terrible sleeper for naps and night. To get him to nap in his crib without me nursing him, I would just play the waiting game starting around 10 months. I would put him in his crib and stay in the room with him until he fell asleep. I would read or play with my phone. Sometimes he would cry, but I wouldn't pick him up. He could see me the whole time. It sometimes took up to half an hour (or more) and it did take several months before I could just pop him in the crib and leave. So it wasn't an easy solution or a quick fix, but that was the best way I found for us.

My 8 month old does not nap in his crib. He sleeps there fine during the night, and has since birth, and STTN 9-10 hours. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, he can put himself back to sleep fine, although he struggles after 5 am or so. Our bedtime routine is two books, diaper change, lotion, pajamas, breastfeed, sleepsack, but in crib awake.

LO will not nap in the crib at all. Most of his naps have been in a bouncy seat, but he is now able to flip over in it. He can also nap in the swing, ergo, carseat, or on someone. This past week he has been mostly napping on DH who SAH. Also, LO naps on demand, not on a schedule, although it has been mostly pretty regular lately. I know a schedule and routing is probably important, but DH is not much of a schedule person. DH tried CIO (extinction) with LO last week, and he screamed constantly for 30 minutes, and eventually got rescued. I know checks will only make things worse. Also, we are moving in a week. Should we wait until then? Does anyone have any advice?
