I bought some hand weights and am going to start 30 day shred tomorrow! How much room do I need? I am 6 feet tall with a small living room...think I can do it?

I started Ripped in 30 recently and I really like it! It's a lot harder than I thought a 25-minute workout would be. I've even gotten DH to do it with me a couple of times and he really struggles, haha. The first time we did it together, around the second circuit he started gasping, "Where did you find this woman?! She never stops!" Too funny. I am starting to notice a difference, mostly in my arms and my butt.

@travelgirl1: So funny your DH said that about your butt shrinking! I feel like mine is actually getting bigger -- haven't decided how I feel about that. Not really in a bad way I guess, just lifted higher up if that makes sense...I guess I'll just see where this goes haha.

I'm in! I've been doing WW for 5 months and have dropped 34 lbs. That's only abt 8-10lbs from my goal, but motivation has been missing lately. The winter blues finally got me. Funny, because I did OK through halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day. I'm ready to finish, though!

Congrats to you ladies on getting fit-sounds like a lot of you are doing well!

I'm in! I've started doing a an interval training/jogging combo 3 days a week and I'm visiting a nutritionist on Tuesday. I'm almost a year pp and I've got 15lbs until I'm at my pre-baby weight.

I'd honestly love to lose about 40-50 though. I was at my heaviest ever when I got pregnant and I'd love to lose that too.

@LuLu Mom: Arms are a big one for me too - strappy vests are going to be a bit of a no-no for me this spring!

@Running Elley: 5am??? Seriously??? You'll have that 10lb gone in no time! Sounds like you're already doing awesome!

@PurpleUnicorn: Yay on losing the 10lb! Ha I think the weather has been getting milder in TO lately and that's been making me realise I can't hide under jumpers forever... but maybe todays snow has bought us more time : )

@bpcmarj: 30DS is great, it seems to work everything but in small bursts so you don't get bored.

@Beebug: You're running some great distances! I know what you mean, I never 'feel' like it either, and we have a gym and pool downstairs! I've really been trying to force myself and I try do it in a morning before I get going for the day because otherwise I'll talk myself out of it.

@MrsH: How's WW going for you? I seemed to track very regularly at first but now I'm so slack at it, so annoyed with myself!

@coacheswife123: How's couch to 5k going so far?

@prettylizy: Yay for motivation, that's a great start!

@mrsaudi: That's great that you weigh less than preg! I think toning will be the key for me too.

@mrsjazz: How far into the 30DS are you? I'll be day 5 tomorrow - I'm still on Level 1, those ab exercises are HARD!

@mrskc: I fell off the WW wagon too, trying to crawl my way back onto it now : )

@twoofeverything: Oh my goodness, 5-6am is so early! Great idea to do it before the babes get up though!

*Raises hand* I'm in! I'm actually at my pp weight. I sank below it for a few weeks, but then I got lazy with eating, and I haven't been to the gym.
I've been trying to eat better this week. Plus, the babies have started STTN, so I may be able to start going to the gym between 5-6am. Gotta do it, gotta do it, gotta do it...

count me in!!! I'm only 4 lbs from prepreg weight (I'm 5 months pp), but I have so much flab to lose on my belly. I'm not used to having love handles and a pouch. I really want to be able to get back into prepregnancy jeans and to wear a bikini this summer.

So far, I've lost 16 lbs since Jan 1st doing weight watchers alone. I've fallen off the bandwagon with weight watchers the last few weeks, so today I'm back to tracking all my food. My subscription ends this month, but I may pay one more month to help me lost these last couple of pounds.

As far as exercise goes, it's nonexistent. DH and I were doing great with walking everyday, but we missed a day and haven't gone now in over a week. Plus, he's been working late. I think I'll start doing some quick strengthening exercises at home. I've been doing baby lifts. I take my 16+lb baby and I lift him in the air until my arms feel like they're going to fall off. He loves it! I need to do core exercises as well.

This thread is a great idea! I think we can keep each other all motivated!

I'm in. I am at my pre-pregnancy weight but it's distributed ALL WRONG on my body. I have a belly I didn't have before. I was trying to lose 10 lbs pre-pregnancy, so I definitely need to lose that and tone up this damn belly :)

For exercise I am doing walks, physique 57, and 30 day shred.

I'm in too!! I weigh less than what I did pre-preg, only about 2 lbs less. I really want to focus on toning my stomach and my thighs, they are gross! I'm doing a low calorie diet and watching carbs along with protein shakes. For exercise I'm doing 30 day shred, yoga and walks with LO.

So in!!! I'm still working hard on my NY resolution to get fit. Down almost 30lbs in the last 10 months (18 of which were in the last 12 weeks!), still many many more to go, but I've never been more motivated than I am right now.

SO IN!

Thank-you for posting @travelgirl1: !!

I have been totally slacking lately and am getting right fed up with my pouch up front.

I am 5 months pp, gained 56lbs through pregnancy and am about 10lbs above goal weight. I was 157lbs Feb 20th at LOs 4 month check up. I am not so much concerned with weight but being fit again is #1 for me. I know I will lose a little more, then hopefully gain in muscle. My goal is to fit in a rockin' dress I bought for a wedding last summer, buuuut we got preg way sooner than we figured so this summer it is before we TTC again. Even if I am only skinny/goal size again for a month before TTC I don't even care, I just want to get there.

My biggest issue with working out (whatever it may be, 30ds, running, etc) is I have been banking on doing it "when I feel like it". Why would I ever feel like it? lol. I need to get back to scheduling it into my week and committing that way. I ran 7.3km Sunday, running again today, Thursday and then playing frisbee Friday night.

I really need to tone my arms, in pictures they look so flabby and I would like some tone back, apparently hauling around 14lbs of a 5 month old is not enough? I walk 2-3x a day (thank-you dog), but sometimes only 15 minutes, up to 1 hour +, the weather is the biggest factor, looking forward to nicer weather and I hope to get out way more once things warm up.

I am going to join in. Although I weigh a good bit less than I did pre-pregnancy, I really need to tone up and lose the love handles and belly. My 10 year HS reunion is this summer, and I want to look great!!

I don't have hand weights, but I have cans of beans:) Wonder if I should give 30 day shred a try. Jillian Michaels scares me though.

@LuLu Mom: i find having an exercise machine at home helps soooo much!! If I don't feel like do a full 30 minute workout, I tell myself I will do just 10 minutes since it keeps up the habit and 10 minutes is better than nothing! Usually that is enough to lift my mood/energy and I can do more, and sometimes I just do 10 minutes because that's all I have time for. I would never go to the gym for 10 minutes though!

@Running Elley: your exercise regime sounds amazing! way to go!

count me in too! i had such a hard time losing weight since L was born, despite breastfeeding. I actually gained 10 pounds by the time the holidays were over :( ,,,, BUT I have officially lost those 10 pounds as of yesterday!! YAY! Now I have another 30 to go to reach my goal of -5 prepregnancy. But honestly, I will be happy when I lose 25. I'll decide if the last 5 is worth it when I get there.

What i did wrong (to gain those 10 pounds pp) was just eat way too much and also I developed many calorie-rich habits during my pregnancy that I've slowly been breaking (e.g., I don't need 2 tbsp of chocolate powder in my coffee! flavored splenda is the way I go now!). I am using myfitnesspal and i find it helps A LOT to track everything so i can see where I need to cut calories and not go hungry (another example, 1 tbsp of hummus, not 2, in my sandwiches).

For exercise, I have a stairmaster I use at home. I try to do 30 mins 3 - 4 times a week. I also joined a mommy and baby aerobics class that I go to once a week. As I get more in shape, I increase the intensity level on it as well. And DH and I go for walks together once in a while (we need to increae our frequency) and as soon as the weather gets better, I plan to do a lot more walking outdoors with L.

I think I am track since the 10 pounds came off nicely in the past several weeks, but I still have a long way to go and would love motivation from others and to share tips :)

I'm in too! I'm about 10 pounds from pp weight. I've been focusing on just eating clean and working out. Im on my 3rd week of working out 5x per week and I'm feeling soooo much better! On Mondays I walk hills with E in the stroller, Tuesdays and Thursdays take a high intensity interval training class at the gym, wednesday core and conditioning at the gym and Friday spin at the gym

I've found that taking classes keeps me accountable for working
out (I've been going to the classes that are before LO wakes up so 5am with my sister and another friend) and I get a good workout because it's in a group setting so I push myself more!

@BelugaBean: I found yesterday that doing it in the morning gave me a ton more energy for the day. I put A in her bouncy seat and she watched too, which she seems to like. I'm still nursing so a bit worried about doing lots of running etc, so 30DS works fabulously. Level 1 does make me sweat though, ha ha, I have a LONG way to go!

Also, for some reason starting a fitness motivation board on Pinterest helped me. I look at it when I'm considering not working out and it gives me that extra push to just get up and do it.

@Mrs. Pen: -5 from pre-preg is amazing! Great news that you can go to the gym too : ) We have a gym downstairs in our condo building but I'm too scared to use it at the moment, my belly jiggles a bit when I workout and I don't want that on display, ha ha.

I took 'before' pictures yesterday and they're not all that bad actually but it feels pretty gross when I'm doing star jumps!

@Mrs. Pen: The 30 Day Shred is on YouTube so if you have hand weights you'd be all set to start that if you wanted to!

@travelgirl1: It was definitely hard at first. After about a week, I found that I was barely sweating during level 1 so I moved up. Now I do level 1 everyday and alternate between 2 and 3 for my second. And hopefully I can start C25k back up on Monday. I usually do level 1 after that as well. It helps a lot when you can look in the mirror and see results or do something during the day that seems easier.

Yay! I'll join. I want to lose 10 lbs, but more than that I just want to tone my stomach, love handles, thighs and glutes. I'm actually OK with my weight (-5 Pre pregnancy weight!) but I have so much jiggle it's gross.

I haven't really gone to the gym at all this winter as DH and I share a car and in the winter he needs it every day. But hopefully spring is just around the corner (I'm ignoring the fact we had a full blown winter storm yesterday) and that means DH can bike to work and I can go to the gym!!! Yay!
