That's so sad. My nephew just had a hospital stay and we're sending him some cozy jammies, a book, and a small toy.

For your friend, maybe a good book or stack of magazines, something to kill time in the hospital. Or a cozy and cute sweatshirt or cardi, as hospitals can be cold. Or a personalized piece of jewelry with a special word or her daughters name or initial.

Man. So heartbreaking!!! Omaha steaks has a lot of great food choices. I would send a stuffed animal for the LO.. maybe some flowers for your friend. Fresh flowers always brighten my day.

Food sounds like the way to go. I think I will also get a stuffed animal and some sort of game for the baby!

I agree with @mediagirl, food is always good and much needed. I just sent a friend who's having trouble getting pregnant a fertility necklace from etsy. Maybe you could find some sort of healing necklace.

I would send food. She won't have a lot of time with taking lo to doctor appointments and such. Maybe a fruit basket or frozen steaks. Don't send something like an edible arrangement, it will perish too quickly.

ETA: as for the little one, I might send her a gift, as well. A game or something to do while in the hospital. Not sure of suggestions for that age range..

I'm so sorry! :-(

I just found out my friend's sweet 15 month old daughter has cancer. :-( I can't imagine the stress and heartache she is going through right now. Her baby will have a big surgery in a couple of days.

I don't live near them but I do want to send them something...any ideas?
