That last part after bath is always tough. Now that my LO is in the actual tub, sometimes I will pull the drain and let the tub empty while she is still sitting there. By the time the water is gone, she doesn't mind getting out.

Both of my kids did this. DD grew out of it by about 8 or 9 months, and I'm just counting down the time until DS grows out of it, too. I think, for us at least, the bath distracts them from how tired they actually are, and once they get out they suddenly realize they're exhausted and need to go to sleep. I just hurry through lotioning, diapering, and pj's and don't worry too much if they cry hard for 3-5 minutes before they get their bottle.

I try all those things they said... and sometimes I let the water get cold so he cries in the tub and WANTS to get out--then the crying is much shorter lived (but.... your fault)

thanks guys, I will try the mirror tonight. She likes to look in the mirror during the day, just never thought to try it after a bath. :)

We haven't figured this out yet. Sometimes she screams, sometimes she is fine. It's always a crapshoot. I would suggest the mirror, as well. M seems to love it.

DH plays "where is LO?" sometimes when we throw her hooded towel on her when taking her out of the bath. She loves it, gets giggles every time!

i was going to suggest the mirror, or lengthen bath time. Liv wsa the same way. She would get piiiiissed if you cut her baths short. I made them longer and she started to calm down. Then when she got old enough, we knew when she was ready to get out

Have you tried standing in front of the mirror? My Lo loves looking at herself and will stop crying once she sees her reflection. Hahah kills me

LO is 9 weeks and we are starting her on a bedtime schedule of bath, bottle, (book), bed. She had/has colic, so on advise on the pediatrician we haven't started a sleep schedule until now.

LO *loves* the bath. Really LOVES it. But, she screams bloody murder as soon as she has to get out of the bath. The bathroom is warm (it's hot, really!) so I don't think she is cold. I dry her as quickly as I can with super soft towels, and warm lotion between my hands before putting it on her. I've tried holding her while drying her, putting her down while drying her, and cuddling her up in a warm towel and waiting to dry her. Nothing makes any difference. She cries so hard her face is all red, eyes are puffy and tear stained by the time she gets into her PJ's and gets her bottle. Once she gets the bottle, she mostly calms down, but often not completely for about an hour afterwards.

Is there some secret to getting a baby out of the bath without them having a complete meltdown? How do you do it?!?! Can you share any tricks with me, or is this completely normal behavior?

I'd like to make the getting out process a lot calmer for her, if possible. :/ Thanks!!
