@Bao: I'm similar (good night sleep, bad naps!) I switched him to the crib last week for naps because I didn't have much to lose. He naps like 5 times a day for 30 mins in his crib, but he did the same in the RnP :(

He's usually awake for an hour and 45 mins to 2 hours between naps.. sometimes a bit less if he starts getting sassy! It's only 2:15 and he's on nap number 3 of the day. Can't wait for some longer naps.

Dd STTN in her crib beautifully from a very young age, but would NOT nap in her crib. It was such a battle of the wills every time I would try, but eventually I just let her continue napping in her swing until she turned 5.5 months. It was a day of crying and no naps, but day 2 she napped in her crib and has been ever since. I think I just had to wait it out!

thanks guys! Maybe it's just a wait it out type of thing. She is currently sleeping in her crib for nap #2 though, but it was only about an hour after her first nap...just seems so close together.

I feel like dd was also doing about two hours of awake time at that age. And there were definitely a lot of catnaps. She started consolidating naps around 5-6 mo.

DS slept in the swing exclusively until 4.5/5 months even though he STTN 12 hours at night in the crib. We slowly transitioned him out... he was a chronic catnapper for a while too and just dealt with it. by six months he was doing 3 solid naps in the crib. And that's all I vaguely remember!!!

Good luck mama, the learning never ends!

Xander's awake time at that age was around 2 hours, so unless he was showing signs of tiredness before that, I always just put him down for a nap after he'd been up for 2 hours! It seemed to work most of the time... haha :D

E is 3.5 months old now and I just started getting her to try napping in her crib for naps. She sleeps in there great at night but for nap time she has been napping (not well) in her swing. I can usually get her to nap in there for her first nap of the day but after that I'm having difficulty. I'm not exactly sure when these other naps should take place and how many naps she should be taking. She wakes up around 8-9am then naps 45 minutes to an hour after waking. After that point in the day I'm at a loss what her sleep should be like, you'd think with her being my second I would know ;) any thoughts/tips would be helpful!

ETA: she goes down drowsy and awake for nap #1 but I'm not noticing sleepy signs after that until it seems to be too late and she's then difficult to get down.
