@MsBAM: They mentioned meds but I think it’s unnecessary right now. If I burp him well he is usually fine. I also watch my diet because that seems to help! Hoping and praying he grows out of it!

@cake2017: That might work out better! Any remedies suggested by the pedi for the reflux? I don’t swaddle my LO because he never liked it. His startle reflex is just about gone now so that’s good.

@MsBAM: We decided to hold off since we are moving. I’m going to continue to work on his routine. He has a schedule and he goes through it well daily. Bedtime is going to be pushed up between 830-9pm. He did better last night but will hopefully work on less nursing to sleep. He has reflux so o nurse him upright in a rocking chair. His crib is in our room so the training at night is alittle tricky. I’m thinking the waking has to do with development and reflux. We are going to move forward with sleep training in a couple of weeks when he’s in his own room! Do you swaddle your baby or he’s fine with no startle reflex?

@cake2017: Yes! Night time has improved a lot with respect to not needing to be held. We co sleep but he no longer needs to be held at night. He’ll lay on his own and just wake up to nurse and fall back to sleep. It generally just improved on its own, but I did start putting him down in the middle of the night more to get him used to it so I think that helped. Have you tried side lying nursing at night so you don’t have to move him? I also find that helps. I’ve read your other posts too and my LO also went through a sleep regression up every 2hrs. I remember it subsiding after a couple weeks. I’m on day 8 sleep training for bedtime now.

I’m still struggling with naps so I don’t have much advice there. What I started doing for naps was side lying nursing to avoid him waking up when I put him down. The only way he won’t wake up after me putting him down for naps is usually if he’s very tired and if there was a failed nap attempt. That’s why I started side lying nursing for naps so I could sneak away. I know it’s not the best solution right now but I’m going with it until I nap train.

How did night 1 sleep training go?

Hi everyone,
I have an almost 3mo and have a hard time getting him to nap or sleep on his own. Currently we co sleep and a lot of times he lays on my chest bc he won't sleep on his back unless I put him down in a deep sleep, then when he wakes up he fusses and will not sleep. For naps he falls asleep in my arms since its the only way he will sleep then I have to carefully put him down inch my inch without him waking. I have tried the pacifier for him to soothe himself back to sleep and he spits it out. He has no issues with me putting him down when he's awake and alert, just when he's sleeping. I realize he needs to learn to fall asleep on his own but when I leave him to do this he just stays awake or fusses. I've also tried my swing but that just keeps him awake. Anyone else experience this? TIA
