@Sammyfab: It's 12 and he's still sleeping! I don't think I have the heart to wake him up. Maybe operation get back on schedule will start tomorrow after all?

Good idea! I think that since he took that catnap so soon after he woke up it was more an extension of his night sleep anyway. Hopefully he sleeps better for you tonight!

@Sammyfab: He's definitely on the mend (though I think he's cranky from poor sleeping in general lately). I'm pretending like the 30 minute catnap didn't happen. He went down for a morning nap at 10 and hopefully will take his afternoon nap just a little later then normally and then get back on schedule. Assuming that he stops with this night waking stuff....

Aww...poor little guy!

My LO hasn't been sick often but he had a mild fever a couple of weeks ago and he was super sleepy. I tried to stick to our regular schedule but if he seemed really tired I would just put him down early and follow his tired cues. He fell asleep on me twice and we had to put him down early a few nights.

If he still seems pretty sick, then just let him sleep as much as he wants. If he is definitely on the mend, try and stick to your regular schedule as much as possible.

@littlek: Thanks! This is by far the most sick he has ever been- had temp of 102-104 for 3 days straight. He was literally up for hours in the middle of the night 2 nights in a row! I am really hoping this is his last illness of the season.

B had a bad cold over the holidays and it took about 2 days to get him back on schedule. The first day, I let him try and adjust himself back to his old schedule: play, eat, nap and then by day 2 I would just put him down for naps and bedtime based on his old schedule.

My son has had a virus since Thursday night (VERY high fever) and he's been understandably all out of sorts. It's now Monday and he no longer has a fever, but he does have some cold symptoms. His schedule is a wreck. He was up a lot at night while sick and his naps were all over the place (I gave up on the schedule because he was so miserable).

Tips on getting back to routine? He's almost 9 months old. Bedtime is 7, up by 5:30. Naps at 8 and 1.

Today, he woke up at 6:20 and was dying for a nap by 7:30! I gave in and he slept 30 minutes but woke up happy. Now, I'm totally confused.
