@gingerbebe: ditto the entire first paragraph.
I didn’t do the things in the 2nd so I can’t attest to that. But everything about day/night is spot on.

How old is he? He may have his days and nights mixed up so he sleeps really well during the day but basically needs to be coaxed at night. My suggestion is to pick a time to wake up in the morning and consistently wake him up at that time and get him some sun, and then don't let him nap more than two hours at a time each nap. (He can go back to sleep after he eats but keep the naps at 2-2.5 hours). Then bedtime should be 12 hour after the time you wake up. Create a consistent bedtime routine, keep it dark and quiet to signal night time, and put him to bed. Any wakings keep dark and quiet and work to put him to sleep. You should slowly see the hours he needs to be held shift later and later as his clock moves. The hardest for me was when my youngest son's hours for holding were 2-6am and then I would have to wake us up at 73am to start the day, but he had it sorted out in 2 weeks. Just be consistent.

We also lined his rock n play with my dirty shirts under the sheet, swaddled tight, and then placed warm rice socks against his side and belly to help him feel warm and held.

We are trying to get our newborn to sleep in his swaddle me by your side sleeper (which we’ve put in the pack n play since he doesn’t seem to like sleeping in it.) He’ll sleep all day alone in is swaddle me by your side sleeper than 9:30PM hits he will not sleep unless one of us is holding him in the glider.

PLEASE HELP. I am exhausted. My husband goes back to work on Monday and I’m scared what this will be like when it’s only me up with him.
