Frozen milk should be used within 24 hours of thawing (in the fridge).
You could probably try whenever to introduce formula. Definitely try it ahead of time, you probably wouldn't want your LO's first experience to be at daycare in case he doesn't like it.
Are you sure you won't pump enough? I get up in the middle of the night to pump so that I have a "buffer" amount- I get enough for 1-2 feedings then, and about enough for two feedings from pumping at work. My LO gets 3 bottles while I'm at work, all breast milk.
If you do supplement, yes, you can totally mix and make a little cocktail :)

I am going to be heading back to work a week from Monday (commence mixed emotions) and am trying to get ready to get everything ready for my son's feedings at his caregiver's. I have not been overly diligent about pumping extra during my maternity leave but am trying to make an effort to pump and freeze this last week.

I am confused about the following logistics:

- Once I thaw out the milk to pack, I assume that that milk will have to be consumed within a short period of time. How long would you go between when it's been thawed and when he drinks his bottle?
- I will probably need to supplement with formula as I don't think I will have enough milk, although will be pumping at work and hope to mostly use pumped milk. We haven't used formula yet and I think I should try to introduce it before he goes to daycare. How far in advance would you introduce it?
-(This may be the most ridiculous question of all!) Can formula and breastmilk be combined to make a bottle?! I assume they must be kept separate and alternated throughout the day, but I just have no idea!

Thanks for humoring my crazy questions. I am a bit anxious about going back to work and having someone else feed my baby (!) and I think it's causing me to not think clearly about these logistics.
