Yay, congrats!

Of course I felt good hitting the 12 week mark (that was the apt. I found out I miscarried the first time so it was very scary for me), but I must say I was still very anxious my whole pregnancy. I knew when I hit that mark it was time to tell people, and then I could still just as easily miscarry and then I'd have to deal with people knowing and I didn't want that. I wasn't happy until my baby was out of my belly... and now I'm still checking a few times a night to make sure she's still breathing! I'm pretty sure I'm just never going to stop worrying about her. It's our job as mom's!

It was big for me because that was when I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Until then, I wouldn't let myself really get caught-up in the idea that the baby was a sure-thing.

Congratulations!!!

I was super excited to hit the 12 week mark, because I really started to feel secure in the pregnancy, more than I had before. I loved telling everyone about the pregnancy, which we made public at the 12 week mark. Congratulations for making it to 12 weeks!

I am almost 10 weeks and after a history of miscarriages, I can't wait for the 13th week mark. I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks, so I really just want to get past that marker first. I'm not sure if I will ever actually relax. Which is so stinky!

Thanks : )

@ Tequiro/LAGS/Navy - I hear what you are saying about passing a little benchmark, but then setting a new one immediately! At first, I just wanted to get to my 7 week ultrasound. Then my 11 week ultrasound. Then 12 weeks. Now, I'm looking forward to my NT scan this week. Then my midwife appointment the following week and actually being in the second trimester. Then, the anatomy scan. Then the kicking. I am convinced that on some level you never fully relax about pregnancy until the baby is born. Then, there's a whole new set of worries : )

@LeeLee - I felt like weeks 4-8 crept by, but 8-12 flew for me. You are almost there!

I have no history of MC, and honestly apart from fainting a lot I've had a super easy pregnancy, but until I can feel that little guy moving around in there regularly I'm still gonna be nervous. But, I have severe general anxiety, so I'm weird, lol.

I had a whole host of emotional/confidence boosting check points with this pregnancy. First I got through weeks 5/6 with no spotting, then had a healthy u/s at week 8, in general experienced symptoms I never had before and passed probably my biggest hurdle with a healthy heartbeat at week 11, when we had previously experienced our loss.

I think because of all these things combined, by the time I reached the second trimester I had already become pretty confident that we have our sticky baby! That said, looking back even though it was a little anti-climactic... its still a pretty big sense of accomplishment and I feel like I'll be able to get through the rest of this pregnancy without being scared senseless.

congrats!

i did feel like we hit our goal once we hit the 12 week mark. but then, i wanted to hit the 13 week mark so i'd be in the 2nd trimester. then i wanted to hit 16 weeks for our complete u/s. now i want to hit 24 weeks because that's when the babies are first viable. i still get nervous but i'm feeling much more better about it now and really feel like i'll be able to hold my babies in my arms. last year, before i lost the baby, my pregnancy was so surreal. but now that i have a real belly and i hear my babies' heartbeats, etc. feels so REAL!

i don't think it was anti-climactic for me. but the nervousness never really stopped at 12 weeks. but i was so relieved that i did reach that goal.

let's hope for H&H babies for us.

Today marks 12 weeks for baby winnie! I started to feel less nervous a few weeks ago at an ultrasound where our OB told us that everything was great and she felt our risk of miscarriage was very low. But, having had a prior miscarriage, the 12 week mark always seemed like the magical benchmark for me - the time when I could really start believing this is our take home baby.

Did anyone else feel a sense of accomplishment getting there? Was it anti-climactic? If you had a prior MC, did it make the 12 week mark seem more important?
