In the first, I would get such an awful feeling. Cabinet doors would open, the bathroom lights would flicker (only when I had that feeling) and once I awoke to a rhythm tapping on the glass of the window next to my bed. It kept tapping the same "song" over and over. Once at night I knew it was in my bedroom when I heard my pearl earring, which was across the room on my dresser, flick off and bounce near me on the floor.</p> <p>In the other apartment, my cat would be driven mad by something we couldnt see, and my boyfriend and I repeatedly saw shadows. One time, on our way back to the apartment after a walk, we noticed what looked like someone sitting in the kitchen at the window from outside. </p> <p>I hated that place! It's hard to relax when there's creepy stuff going on. We bought a house built in 1930 a couple of years ago, and I noticed immediately that it seemed "empty" of weirdness. </p> <p>My baby is only 11 weeks but I wonder if he'll ever notice anything when he's older. Really- like there was weight over me where an arm would be. I think the whole "by the power of God" bit and the sensation goes away. This happened three more times that night. Each time the sensation would go away when I said that phrase in my head.</p> <p>This was the night before the hearing against my (now-ex) husband for a restraining order. I do believe in them, but I'd like to not know about them - haha.</p> <p>Our house is only 7 years old, and we've only been in there for a little over a year, but I think there is *something* in our guest bedroom. We actually had my youngest in there when we first moved in last year (we had to move her to the front bedroom because her cries woke my other girl up in the middle of the night), and I always felt uneasy, but I couldn't put my finger on why. </p> <p>There have been nights when I slept in that room when my husband was snoring too loud, and I never slept great - there were strange noises, like someone was moving around in there (I always thought it was my oldest coming in, but no) and I swear I felt something brush against my arm the last time I was asleep. </p> <p>Also, one night I heard my oldest talking in her bedroom when she should have been sleeping. I really don't really know. I just know if lots of things are going on in the house, spirit stuff can come up. Even just a lot of tension or stress in the household. We had shadow-like figures show up in my childhood home after my step-father moved in, which was a stressful time of adjustment. One seemed playful, like you described, and would look around corners at us and pop out of closets. It was the spirit of the former tenant who had recently passed away, and she wasn’t malicious or anything. But, I did end up connecting with one of my mom’s friends who knows a healer and medium who told me to call her by her name and tell her she didn’t belong there and to move on. The spirit did. </p> <p>I also know that feeling you are describing – the medium told me people who are “spirit sensitive” (which apparently I am?!) feel it when spirits are close. I also had that same feeling REALLY badly right before a strong earthquake (like, 1 minute before the earthquake started). So, I also think we are more in tune to the universe than we know! </p> <p>Also: my dad and my aunt (his sister) had a premonition that my grandfather was going to die on the morning that he did die. They were just kids, and my grandfather hadn’t been ill and his death was very unexpected. My MIL and several of her sisters have seen multiple ghosts (actually, my FIL has too). In MIL and her sisters’ case, the ghosts have always been recently deceased relatives. They have no reason to lie, I have no reason to disbelieve them. I do believe in haunted places and my 2 yr is starting to freak me out saying the ghost is coming and that he is a naughty man. And that he is right there! And points to a corner over and over. So now sometimes out of no where when he is playing we hear him say that a couple times then continue playing. My girls, 3.5 years and almost 23 months, have been talking for about 10 days about a "ghosty." So much so, that my youngest was afraid to go to sleep the other night. They don't watch any shows with ghosts, and we don't talk about them. </p> <p>Last night, something peeked at me from the hallway, around the corner while I was in the living room. I KNOW something was there. I couldn't shake the creeped out feeling, or chalk it up to something else like any other time something weird has ever happened. It felt playful, so I initially thought my 3 year old was awake, but the place it peeked was too high up for it to have been her, and I immediately looked at the video monitor in the girls' room and they were both in bed fast asleep. I made my husband check through our entire house, but nothing. </p> <p>By this morning, I was feeling OK about it, ready to shrug it off as just a one-off weird thing, and then, my youngest, pointed to the same hallway where I saw something last night, and said "ghosty...ghosty!" </p> <p>WHYYYYYYY‽ Our house isn't even that old, it's from the '60s, and we've lived here for 4 years without incident, but now I'm freaking out our house is haunted. I didn't even think I believed in that stuff. Nothing felt ominous, just freaky.</p> <p>Has anything creepy like this ever happened to you? Have your kids claimed to see something that made your hair stand on edge? How did you react? Do you believe places can be haunted? </p>
