@Clementine12: See we’re on the same page 😂 Except you have a excuse! I mean the best we can really do is target or the ONE local toy store in our city but I promise he still looooooves going to browse, making a whole afternoon of it; and carefully selecting his treasure 😉 If I pick something it’s 50/50 lol.

@Clementine12: I don’t know if this is how your daughter is but what is magical to my son (5) - and I was the same at that age - is being taken to ice cream and the toy store and being told he can choose any one thing in the entire place. I still remember toys r us and the Disney store of 1989 so fondly because it was such a special day!! Also, like, you don’t have to do much 😂

Thanks for all the suggestions! Definitely got my brain working again.. Amazon Prime and Target Drive-up FTW!

Ended up getting a Lego Duplo kit and a set of play make up. Also loved the Jeep/ play car idea but it's not practical for our budget and living situation right now. Also a scooter is a great idea but I also need a new helmet for her and honestly don't have the mental capacity to figure that out right now

What does she like? Is she into outside stuff, imagination, arts and crafts? Do you have an easel? A small trampoline? We got my son a small guitar for his 5th birthday and that was a big hit. If she likes to cook, maybe a kid-sized cooking set. Magnatiles, my kids are loving scootering right now, sand table for your yard (I know you said it isn’t big but they don’t have a huge footprint).

A bike or scooter was my first thought as something for the warm weather that won’t take up too much room. Other outside things that my kids have enjoyed are bubbles chalk etc. Is she into arts and crafts or Lego or pretend play? My 3yo got some cute play food to add to our ply kitchen for his recent birthday.

DD’s big gift when she turned 4 was a doll house, she played with it daily for about 1.5 years. She also loved certain LEGO sets at that age - the ones for 4+. I think we added to her magnatile collection around then because she was building bigger, more complex things and wanted more pieces. A nice quality scooter would be good. Or DD has a Flybar My First Foam Pogo Jumper that she LOVES - it’s not expensive but is super fun, I even use it sometimes!

Bike, scooter, skateboard, roller skates, amazon teeter totter, legit remote control cars. I love the ride on jeep idea, but if you don't have room for that, ive seen small little disney ride on atv type things at target that wouldn't take up much room in the garage. Good luck! My big girl turns 5 in the summer and i'm at a loss, too, for her gift. It may be a mural for her wall. :silly: But my almost 3 year old is getting a skate board that I just ordered yesterday. Please let me know what you end up getting! I'm always looking for ideas, too!

DD (4)'s big xmas gift was a Step2 nursery playset (that frankly doesn't get played with much!).
She got a cute little kids piano for her birthday which she loves. (Not a very $$ gift, but her most played with!)
A 'big' gift would be her ride-on 12V jeep, another love that she's had for a couple years but might not work well if you don't have the space to ride it.

My oldest DD is turning 4 on Mother's Day and the gifts I have bought so far are all practical and not very exciting. She's tall for her age and has great communication. We do not have a yard big enough for larger toys to stay out there permanently.

Any "one big exciting" gift ideas, bees? Any traditional gifts for this age range that I'm blanking on?
