@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: haha it's merchandise based off a cartoon. I don't even know how to describe it. It has a launcher thingie that you launch the beyblades out of. If he has a sibling the two can duel each other. If he has some he will love more. My nephews have so much it's ridiculous. It's all they wanted for bdays and XMases for like 3 years. Just search beyblades on Amazon.

We would get them each 1-3 beyblades (different price points) + 1 educational item. :)

Also my nephews love building stuff so I would buy hard/educational building toys in lieu of Legos. Fatbraintoys also has a good collection of science kits. Make your own slime, sour candy, etc. Looks like sour candy and slime are 8+ but if his parents work with him I'm sure it'll be fine.

Good idea ladies!

@Pink Champagne: he has jerseys. Last year his uncle gave him two remote control cars. I know the feeling of giving the best gift- not him, but another God child loved her tea set- feels awesome

@pelikila: a watch may make him feel grown up. I'll ask DH if his dad wears one. The little boy is in love with his father and will likely want anything similar to his daddy.

@Smurfette: your nephew is into cool superheros. I love multi-layered themed gifts.

@locavore_mama: Still not quite sure what is...video game...merchandise...online games, but this would be the best gift. They are definitely gamers. I will ask DH to sniff out if they have this one already.

My nephew just turned 5 and we got him new sheets cause he wanted Superman ones. Then a big stuffed Batman doll, that he now sleeps with every night instead of the monkey he has slept with since a baby. Go Aunt Smurfette!!
Also a Camelbak Superman (do you see a theme here?) that he loves cause it is a grown up one.

A watch (not digital). Timex makes some great kids watches. Do a search on Amazon, particularly if he has a favorite character.

The 5 year old little boys in our family are OBSESSED with sports. Does he have a favorite football/baseball player? A jersey would be cool if he doesn't have one.

There are some really cool remote control cars/planes out there too. We just got a really basic one for our friends 4 year old and guess what was the favorite gift at the party?

What should I get for a 5 year old boy who has everything and his parents would love for him to have more!

In years' past my gifts of books and toys to fuel imaginative play have gone unappreciated. This year it's important to DH that we buy a good gift. Max $50.
