The #1 toy on my list for P is a b.toys zany zoo! It's recommended for 1 year & up but I think she'd get some enjoyment out of it now & it can grow with her for atleast a couple years. No batteries & it doesn't take alot of floor space. I've read great reviews on it & for ~60 bucks I think it's worth it.

Oh, I just saw its $50 online at target right now.

At 8 months old, my daughter really started liking the walkers. My parents have the one you mentioned at their house, and she loves it, but the problem is that all the fun stuff is on the front so she would rather look at the front of it instead of walking behind it.

We have this one at our house and she loves to walk all over the place with it: http://www.amazon.com/Step-Start-Walk-Ride-Colors/dp/B00004T2WP/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1355410717&sr=8-14&keywords=baby+walker

She also loves remotes and keys and anything that rattles.

My husband's company donates to a local homeless and battered women's and children's shelter (time, resources, money, etc). For Christmas they've asked their employees to play Santa for a child at the shelter. DH picked an 8 month old boy (all we know about him).

I'm having a little bit of trouble decided what to get for him. I was looking at the VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker, but read some not stellar reviews about it, so I'm hesitant.

We were told there's no price limit, but most people keep the gifts in the $30-$40 range. I'm not sure something that needs batteries is the way to go (and obviously not something too big...I've not been to the shelter in person but I can't imagine they have a ton of space). And my heart aches for these kids, so I want something really fun.

Any suggestions?
