Gift cards, you can't go wrong with Starbucks (if he's a coffee drinker), Target (guys love it too), or food places close to work? Also can't go wrong wtih Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

As a teacher, I'll echo gift cards. Coffee, a convenience store, Amazon, bookstore, that kind of thing. While I certainly appreciate the thought that goes into other gifts, I don't have much to use for a lot of it (and I prefer not to get food, but that might just be me). A nice note from a kid is always meaningful as well.

Or tissues and hand sanitizer. We never have enough of those in school.

I agree with Starbucks too (but maybe have your child innocently ask if he drinks coffee first just in case he's one of those weird non coffee drinkers. ;-))

Seriously, I work in a Middle School and the best gifts are the starbucks gift cards. I am over the moon about a $5 one. Really.

Second runner up: Food. (Most) Guys always like treats, so brownies, cookies, basket of candies, etc.

Third runner up: Amazon kindle gift card or Barnes and Noble.

Any of these things accomponied by a sweet note from your kids. I have saved letters kids have written me from 5-10 years ago! LOVE them!

There is a 24 yr old male teacher at my kids school - they love him and so do I! He is a floater but has worked with both kids. He also drew a super cool Monster Truck (very detailed and colored) just because my DS asked him too! Its hanging in DS's room now.

Anyway I want to get him something for Christmas - any ideas
?
