He will likely need to transport his gun to and from work unless he leaves it in a locker. Also a small digital safe to secure it at home if he does not already have one. Before DH was police he had never shot a gun (neither had I) and we did not have any in the house. So if he is new to gun safety these would be practical. (Like Oakleys or G shock or something along those lines.) Gift card to a supply place that he goes to or a window tinting place for his work car if he is thinking of doing that. Or to a shoe shining place for probation? Or just go with something he likes totally not related to the occasion just to recognize him. Food gift cards!
