A convertible car seat, books, more "advanced" toys. It worked out well. Whenever she figured out how to really play with toys (beyond just shaking and chewing them) we had plenty of things that were developmentally appropriate. Right now, FIL is planning to buy her high chair, and we are planning on getting her a Jumperoo (though I'd kind of like to get that on Craigslist-- my mom might be fine with giving us whatever it costs from there). </p> <p>What are other bigger items that would be good to get at 5 months, to take us through to her birthday in July. Umbrella stroller? We have an UB Vista and a snap and go, so once she gets big for the infant carseat, I guess we might want something smaller for car trips? When did you start using an umbrella stroller?</p> <p>I'd like to be able to give them options when they ask, obviously I'm not expecting everything :) </p>
