We got a smoker for the in laws one year, big hit. We've also done a nice copper mailbox, a picnic table for the backyard, nicer "custom" upgrade things for their house that they might not necessarily want to spend their money on. New bird feeders, new chefs knife. Personalized stationery, ummm,m.....pretty new barware from Schott sweizel (sold on Amazon ). ..... I think canvas prints look fancier and have a higher impact than a framed photo and its a breeze to hang on a nail, so my MIL loves them. My MILs birthday is Christmas Day. I already have her birthday gift covered (her fave lipstick and face wash and a few other things). They are having a big party 12/20 and I sent a large floral arrangement. A friend also made them a custom return address label. I could do a nice framed photo but they are limited on space. SFIL is in his early 60s- I'm especially stumped for him. No gift cards. I've heard her complain about how unthoughtful other gifts are the people given her so I'm feeling a little bit of pressure. She helps out with the baby about twice a month. I am willing to do separate gifts or one bigger gift. </p>
