Imaginets (magnets). We're also getting Goldiblocks, but that might be a little old for 3.

DD is 3.5 and she is currently obsessed with imaginative play. She has a LIttle People castle, and is starting to set up scenarios for the princess. She carries a baby doll around, almost constantly, and loves feeding it, dressing it, putting it to bed etc. She is also VERY into dress up.

I find it really difficult to buy for my son as he gets older, because he's got clearer preferences and I don't want to buy what he wants...he's into Cars and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, which means plastic, noisy, etc.

I really want to buy him some of those architerture blocks, but I am not sure he'll even use them and they're pricey!

Does she already have a play kitchen? I'd do that, and some felt or wooden food toys.

Board games are super fun at this age. My son LOVES playing dominoes and memory. I bought this for a friend a few months ago for her 3 year old daughter and she said that her DD loves it!

dress up! imaginative play is huge at that age. does she have favorite characters? i <3 ladybug girl and you could do some ladybug girl books, and a red tutu, wings and lady bug rain boots. games like spot it (they have jr editions too, but i play with 3 year olds and they don't seem to have a problem with the regular version), or dominoes or memory are fun. beads to string and make necklaces. you can never have enough arts and crafts supplies! and they have come out with lots of new 'girl' lego sets if she likes them more than the 'boy' sets. i'm eyeing this preschool science kit right now

My DD will be 3 two months after Christmas. I have no idea what to buy her for gifts this year!! I have an older son so she plays with his things. She has a few dolls she likes too. Should I get a Barbie? My Little pony?

Maybe I should let her walk around TRU and see what she likes??

I feel so dumb not knowing what to get my own kid!
