DD 2 got a personalized hooded towel from PBK that was a nice an useful gift too.</p> <p>I also like to give gifts that cover the entire first year, even the later half of the first year, because so many people tend to give newborn things. So I'd also give things like bowls, plates and utensils sets (I like the ones by Oxo Tot and Skip Hop). So here's what I came up with:</p> <p>I'm making her a freezer meal of chicken enchiladas for after the baby is born.</p> <p>I'm also bringing her a basket of bath stuff including: baby shampoo, baby lotion, a package of washcloths, a couple new hooded towels, and a little tiny baby bathrobe I found at the store. My cousin's daughter loves ALL her receiving blankets (they're her lovies) so when the mom tried to "give" some to her new baby brother she wouldn't allow it. This child is the opposite gender, so obviously clothes would be appreciated, but they have most of the gear they need. Any special gifts you can think of? </p> <p>I thinking about getting them some new paci's and bottles since those are always nice to have "new". Baby's don't really play with "toys" at this age so there isn't much new to buy there. Anything else? </p>
