@78h2o: I have to say I loved getting money as gifts - my kids are now 4 and 6 and have a nice amount of money in the bank!!!

Maybe a small gift and then money for their savings?

The invite had a line about donating to their college funds, if that was preferred, but I think I'd prefer a gift or gift card. Maybe a gift card is sort of in between giving money and giving a gift? Or maybe I could do a $20 gift of craft supplies or bath stuff and a $20 gift card card?

@Mamaof2: @littlejoy: those are great ideas, thanks!

@lamariniere: yeah, I was thinking of a Target gift card.

As far as ideas go how about an art basket they can all share? Crayola makes great 1st crayons, some paper, paint, etc.

Or a basket full of bath toys , towels and a nice bubble bath?

What about a gift card aimed more for the parents so they can buy something like diapers?

I would do three gifts, but have a common theme. So ... like a craft theme. One kid would get a necklace making kit, one would get a thumbprint art kit, and another would get some clay or something. All would have enough that all 3 girls could play with together. You could keep each gift around $12-$15?? Michaels or a craft store usually has fun craft gifts.

I would do 1 gift - If I had triplets I wouldn't want 3 gifts from every person - that would be a lot of stuff!!!

We are going to a 1st birthday party for triplets this weekend. I'm stumped as to what to get.

When you go to parties for young multiples, do you get separate presents for each kid, or a group gift? I'm sure once they are 3+, it will be important to get individual gifts, but does it matter for 1 or 2 year olds?

Would it be better just to get a gift card (or cards, plural)?

I usually spend about $20 on a kid's gift (assuming it's not family or a super close friend)... would I spend $60 in this case?
