I also wanted an American girl doll (Samantha too!). But I never got either, I am guessing because both are big ticket items and I am one of four girls (so I can only imagine it would have been 4 American girl dolls!). I still have it and my LO's have it now. When I was 8 I wanted an American Girl doll, Santa didn't bring it but my grandma got it for me, I was over the moon! I still have her as well. Those are the two gifts I really remember wanting for Christmas. </p> <p>DH was just telling me that his parents rarely got him what he asked for, and instead got what they wanted. I felt so bad! Nothing like having that Santa magic feeling on Christmas morning. The gifts were affordable too. </p> <p>Was there a gift you wanted that you never got? </p>
