I've been eating ginger chews and plain old crystallized ginger from the beginning for nausea and heartburn. Nothing has worked as well! You can also pour hot water over the crystallized kind to make a drink and it dilutes the flavor a little bit if you think it's too strong.

So this wasn't actual candied ginger, just... ginger flavored candy? I feel stupid typing that. But I have candied ginger from Trader Joe's, for nauseau (non preg) that is REALLY ginger-y, and I really like ginger and find it really strong.

@WALLAROO: I didn't think it was, no. It just basically tastes like a ginger-flavored candy... but if you hate ginger, you probably won't like it.

I could kiss my pregnant friend for giving me a couple of ginger candies last night. She's also 14 weeks along and I was complaining about my horrible heartburn. She carries around a bag of Gin Gins and I had one last night and this morning, both times with heartburn, and both times it went away almost instantly and stayed away for a while! I've tried Tums and Pepcid, not eating certain things, not drinking while eating, and not laying down after eating and this is the only thing that's worked so far. Woot!
