And my best friend and I take turns visiting each other in our homes.<br /> We usually shop, enjoy meals and beverages at the temperature they were meant to be enjoyed, spa, go to bed early and sleep in a little. </p> <p>My husband does 1-2 per year as well. Sometimes for an occasion like a 40th bday. Other times it’s just a good friend of his and they hang out. I can’t be certain what they do exactly, but I know his weekends include a lot of beer and guy food. Sometimes he does VEGAS so also blackjack. Sports. Probably more nightlife than my girls trips include. </p> <p>We both love those weekends! I don’t even mind when he goes because I enjoy the time alone with the kids and also to myself after they’re in bed. And I know when he goes it only justifies my trips even more! My husband used to go to one car race a year on the other side of the country. It is way more feasible for us to do a friend weekend while the other stays with the kids than for us to find someone to keep our kids overnight while we do something together. I did get one this year with my core group and have talked about a few other with some other groups. We live all over the country and it has been a great way for us to stay connected. We do different things depending on where we go - plays, lots of eating, lots of hanging out at wherever we are staying. When we went to our college town a few years ago we basically just relived that time in our lives. </p> <p>Just last night I to my local friend group that we do a weekend away in the spring. They seemed game so I am going to start planning it. I am thinking a low-key spa. </p> <p>One of my college friend's husbands was feeling salty about our girls trips, so I told him he was free to go on a trip our husbands. So now my husband goes on yearly trips with some of the husbands of my college friends. I love it. My husband has been doing an annual guys 'camping' trip for the last 10 years at least. While sometimes they do actually camp, the last few years it's been either renting a house, or going to a friends lake house. They go for 3 days, and mainly just stay at the house, drink, watch sports, sports bet, and maybe go out to a few bars.... so yeah, sounds like your husbands weekend almost exactly. I laughed at your description because my husband did bring his golf clubs to their recent trip, but he said they never golfed, ha.</p> <p>I get together with my college girlfriends at least two times a year for a girls getaway... our next one is coming up in a few weeks and we're staying at a hotel in NY.</p> <p>I just started a girls weekend with some mom friends from my town and we had so much fun on our first trip we're also going to try to go twice a year :) We were at one of their lake homes, and we went out in the boat, hiked, went out to dinner, and drank a lot of wine.</p> <p>I think these weekends away are SO important! Good for everyone to re-charge. Tell me about it...</p> <p>I just went on a "Girls Weekend" with my female family members (mom, aunts, cousins) and we are thinking of making it a yearly thing. We basically shopped all day and ate out and then played games at night at the Airbnb.</p> <p>My DH does a guys weekend that he has called a "golf trip" but I just found out that they aren't even golfing!! He isn't even taking his clubs. So basically it's a bunch of dudes in a condo for 4 nights..... I asked him what they do and he said they smoke cigars, talk, bet on sports... </p> <p>Those w DH's does your DH do anything like this?? Sounds odd to me.. LOL... </p>
