@Rainbow Sprinkles: she stayed in bEd even though we have taught her how to safely get in and out.

Also my lo had not great sleep in the crib either but it has improved a ton since moving to the big bed.

@Mrs. Yoyo: DD will be 19 months when baby comes and she isn't a great sleeper.....I don't know if she will be ready for a toddler bed by then. She needs a baby jail!

We were thinking of getting another crib that comes with all the parts to convert it to toddler and let #2 sleep in the current nursery/crib setup.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: that's a lovely color! I've heard some people say the chalkboard walls can be horrific to clean though. I may only do one section of it if it were me.

We went straight to a twin and he has treated it like a crib. No wandering. But I think I may have just gotten a cheap second crib or let the baby sleep in the RNP or PNP for awhile if we'd had less of an age gap.

Bumping this.

Thinking maybe this color wall on top and the bottom half of the walls with chalkboard paint?

Also, is your toddler in a real toddler bed or a crib converted to a toddler bed? I don't think my LO will be ready to be done with the crib for a while....

@Mrs. Yoyo: did you get your teepee from ikea? I've been looking for one but never considered ikea!

We're doing our son's toddler room now, and it has:

Full sized bed with headboard and footboard, painted navy blue
Desk/hutch in honey oak
long dresser with cabinet door and three drawers in honey oak
3 drawer dresser in honey oak

I just ordered a bunch of decor from pottery barn kids because I had a merchandise credit, but other than that the walls and rest of the room are bare. We only use it for sleeping and reading books before bed because all the toys are down in the playroom.

Right now, our big eyesore is the book storage...they're all dumped in a bin and not displayed nicely. I am kind of stuck on what to do because I don't have any more wall space for another bookshelf and the one above the desk isn't really practical.

One Step Ahead had a super revolving table with bookshelves, but they're not offering it anymore, BOOOOO!

Oh, and Overstock is always worth a look! Especially for rugs. I almost always find everything there, Ikea or Target. Oh, and Etsy for decor! Blik has cool wall decals, too.

We have a playroom, so we don't have too many toys in my 2-year-old's room. For the books and toys that are there, we have a low storage unit with bins. We also have a tall dresser with his clothes, a twin bed, and a big teepee. Most of it is from Ikea!

We are brainstorming for transitioning to J's toddler room too.

I think for sure I will be making him a teepee - I found a few tutorials on pinterest that I will be tapping into. I want to finish that before winter. plain beige canvas fabric is cheap at joanns and they always have 50% off a cut of fabric coupons. It'd be fun to decorate the plain canvas as well.

We also have to figure out some type of storage. I have had my eye on this toy bin for awhile: http://www.amazon.com/Harmony-Kids-Deluxe-Blue-Micro/dp/B002K8LG7G/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2XUJ5BJ3AQXI2&coliid=I28ZTHI0S9NOJ0

I also like the idea of wire racks on the walls

What even goes in a toddler's room? Bed, shelves, and dresser? I have no idea where to start. Pretty sure we are getting an espresso colored Babyletto crib/toddler bed, and have a dresser we plan on painting a fun color (no idea what color).

Do you have any cute/stylish/inexpensive suggestions for storage? Bins and baskets for toys, shelves for books?

I am at ground zero so any suggestions would be appreciated....like anything you have that you love!

I also need suggestions on good places to find GREAT DEALS on rugs, decor, furniture, and bedding. Other than Target and NBD, I'm clueless on bargain sites.
