I guess I'd only worry if you were using plates you really care about. A few of ours have broken, but I let him help me unload the dishwasher and carry food to the table, so I expect that to happen once and a while. </p> <p>I think it's much easier to spill food off of a paper plate, even a fancy styrofoam one, than a real one. </p> <p>As to glass bubble containers, I did this once and regretted it, but it was more because of the shape of the jar. Are your containers really narrow? The one I used was a small, but wider mouthed jar. That shape just doesn't really work for bubbles.
