we got Frigoverre Food Storage. I do not heat it with the top. I never froze food in them because I use silicone ice cube trays and put them in ziplock bags and take out what I need

I store and warm in small glass custard dishes (glass, cheap from the grocery store or amazon) and serve on a BPA free plastic dish that I handwash. My LO is 6 months and he can reach all over - if I put the glass cups on his tray they'd be flying!

We've been doing solids for all of 3 days so take my input with a grain of salt, but I haven't bought any plastic. I've been using some little porcelain ramekins/souffle dishes we already owned. We're starting with purees and then hoping to add some BLW as she gets bigger, but for now, she's not holding the dishes anyway.

I didn't have a microwave at home when my LO was eating purees, so I heated what I needed to on the stove, in a pan. I then served him in our regular dishes (inexpensive stoneware). I always made it a point to serve his food on a plate or in a bowl, not on the tray.

We're planning on starting LO on solids in a few weeks, pending the green light from our pediatrician, and I've become a little paranoid about using plastic food storage containers (this is after not paying all that much attention to BPA etc. for years).

I've been doing research on some starter gear for solids. We're planning on making purees at the beginning, and I found some little 2- and 4-oz. glass storage cubes that look promising. My question is - do I also need bowls, or is it more efficient to heat and serve the purees from the cubes? Is it moronic to use glass bowls with a 6-month-old? And what about glass sippy and straw cups?

Now I'm off to heat up my lunch, which I have stored in a BPA-licious plastic container and will be nuking in my office's Soviet-era microwaves. Ack! (If you have recs for glass storage containers for adults, I'll take those too!)
