We moved the glider from DS1 to DS2s room when he was born. We do use it a whole lot less than we did with our first, but it still definitely got it's use out of it.

We moved the reclining glider into the nursery for LO #2 and bought a non reclining rocking chair for LO #1. I think having a reclining feature was necessary for a baby. LO #1 got another chair for reading and just having somewhere to sit in her room was needed, but a beanbag chair or something inexpensive and small would have worked.

We moved the rocking chair out of DS's room before DD was even born (we never used it anymore) and then bought a different chair for DD's room that I liked better. I used it a lot with her in the MOTN and at bedtime and we still sit in it together to read books before bed and nap (she's 2 now).

I bought a glider for DS2 and it made nursing more comfortable. I love the glider.

I bought a cheapie second hand glider for #2 because we were still using the nice rocking chair in my son's room. You're right that I didn't use the glider much during the day with #2 but I used it A LOT at night for night feeds so I was really happy we had one.

I bought a second glider for #2 because we were still using the one in my 2 year old's room every day. I use it all the time, especially now that he's older and more distractable. With a toddler running around I like to take him up to the nursery so he can focus on eating and not be constantly pulling off to look at his brother.

Haven't had LO2 yet but the glider was moved into the nursery. I never used it much during the day with LO1. It will be used at night to nurse and read stories before bed. Then MOTN.

Haven't had #2 yet, but we got a small rocking recliner for DS from a local furniture store and I love it!!! The reclining feature is a really awesome thing to have.

I have a different glider for #2 problem that might help answer it for you. I'm worried I need another one because my 3 year old still likes to be rocked most nights and snuggles in the glider all the time. It was wonderful to have when he was little and we'd rock or feed for long periods of time.

We just found out we're expecting our second baby. DD1 will have just turned 4 when the baby comes, and we lived in a one bedroom apartment when she was a baby so she didn't have a nursery.
This one will have their own big room, but I'm curious if people feel like they used their glider much with their second? I kind of assume with a busy preschooler running around, this poor kid will just have to nurse wherever we happen to be??
