Yes it was expensive but it has almost all the features I wanted. It glides beautifully, has an excellent reputation and it locks in a semi-reclined position allowing for napping if needed. The baby isn't here yet but I am confident with this purchase and just wanted to circle back with an update. All too often I read posts and never know what the final decision was :wink: . We were SO picky &amp; compared features, upholstery, style &amp; comfort of so many of them at a local furniture store. We were literally there ALL day. I don't recall having seen any that do both at the same time, but I highly recommend a chair that does do both. I use a little footstool while nursing &amp; when gliding, &amp; that has worked fine for us. Every once in a while I've wished that I could recline and rock, but it's not a big deal. I love how comfy the chair is, and the power feature to recline it is fantastic. I hate how recliners with the arm kind of spring open. The power recline slowly and smoothly opens so no disturbing baby. We just moved and the overstuffed, huge armed recliner we had in the living room has been moved to the nursery for #2 (due in April). I'm super excited about the option to totally recline with baby and it rocks just as well as the glider. I just need a cute ottoman and I'm good to go. I can't think of a time I would have wanted it to do both simultaneously. The recline is only used when we end up sleeping with her for some period of time. We use the glider feature daily. We got one of the Grand/XL ones, which are bigger and cushier, and bought online for ~$600? I got the swivel gliding base, so when it is reclined it can't glide but it can swivel, if that makes sense? Originally I was going to order a Best Storytime chair but I'm not sold. </p> <p>I don't love the wooden Dutailier wooden gliders but they seem to offer this feature.
