@spaniellove: Thanks for sharing! The article definitely makes it sound more legit. I think I'm up for trying the free version. Maybe I would've thought about the paid version a year ago, but I think its too late now.

I came across this article about the story behind the app:

http://qz.com/111398/the-founder-of-paypal-wants-to-put-a-baby-in-you/

It sounds slightly more legitimate now that the founder of Paypal is putting $1 million of his own money into it, but I'd still like to see how many people pay for this.

Their terms seem a little shady. At one point they say they'll pay for your infertility screening and at another they say you have to submit proof of your screening. They also never say how much your "grant" will be (does it depend on how much they have in their fund?), so if people have abandoned the program you could end up receiving less than the $500 you put in. They make it sound like you could get a cycle of IVF out of it but this sounds too iffy to me. I just can't imagine people just choosing to pay $50/month to fund what would most likely be someone else's infertility treatments.

I would, if I felt like I needed fertility help and could afford it.

I like the idea, and maybe if it was an established program, I would. But right now, it seems too new to be trustworthy.

Hmm, interesting.

So you pay $50 a month, if you get pregnant, the money goes to someone else. If you don't get pregnant by month 10, you get your fees paid for.

I don't know if I'm sold on the idea. Sounds a little scammy. They said nothing goes to them but if a lot of people enroll in the program, they could make a killing.

If 50 people enroll, they will be banking $2500 a month. Over a year, it turns into $30k a year.

I guess I don't trust it at this point. I want to. I want to help others.

I won't. I don't want to wait ten months to do our next treatment.

I just ran across an article about a new app that will pay for fertility treatments after 10 months of not getting pregnant, and paying into their "pool". Interesting! Would anyone do this?
