I was told not to eat since they are testing how your body process the drink alone to measure how fast it can do whatever it's supposed to do. I failed miserably and had GD... I think next time I'm gonna eat some protein lol.

The nurse called back finally and said the test is based on a normal diet and told me I should be fine to get in whenever. Ugh, I don't want to fail.

I was told to eat a high protein breakfast that morning. Not carby or fruits.

The first time I took it the midwife told me to fast so I did, and passed. The second time I took it they told me not to fast, eat whatever, and I failed it. I had a snickers bar the night before that one, and they swore it wouldnt affect the test at all. I had to then take the three hour test, and they called me on the weekend to tell me I passed and how they couldn't believe how perfect my numbers were. Never again. I will always fast for any future pregnancies!!

I haven't taken it yet, but my doctor told me that I should eat before doing it. A friend had hers recently and didn't eat before, and she said she wished she had eaten.

I was going to take my glucose test today because I was working from home and there is a lab by my house. But I was feeling super nauseous/dry heaving and without thinking I just ate a bowl of special K with brown sugar (its the gluten free flavor) am I going to be screwed? My test isn't at a schedule time I'm just supposed to go in. Should I just go a different day? Wait four hours and go in?
