I had my test first thing in the morning so I wouldn't have to fast for too long. But from what I remember it was much longer than an hour that they wanted me to not eat. Generally, the less sugar and carbs you've eaten in the last ~8 hours the lower your numbers will be. So if you're really worried, you could try to avoid carbs and sugars on the day of your test. I ate breakfast like normal, apple cinnamon oatmeal and water, and had my test about 2 hours later. I tested during the Christmas season and failed. My office was stocked with sweets galore! I go in for my appointment in the afternoon and was told not to eat anyfood for atleast an hour before I arrive. But I see online some people have their appointment in the morning and technically havent eaten anything since the night before. I was wondering if this affects the test and the likelihood to get false result.
