If you have high enough ceilings you could hang a contorted hazel branch (known as Corkscrew Hazel) and hang different things from it maybe based on season?

Love the gnome! If you look up waldorf decor, they have a lot of gnomey fairy forest decor ideas . Here's a Pinterest link http://www.pinterest.com/racheous/waldorf-inspiration/

The gnome does remind me of Santa, but when placed in the room it's bound to fit right in. How about some oversized mushrooms and forest friends that double as practical stuff and decor? Like bookends or storage baskets or hamper or growth chart.

I'm doing a forest theme for ds2's nursery. I made him a little gnome for it today. $1 frame from a thrift store and some card stock I had laying around. I hope it doesn't look too Christmasy - I didn't have any blue card stock for the body.

Anyone have any other forest themed ideas? I want to make a leaf mobile and get a St francis print. The walls are brown, and I'm going to get a green rug. I was going to do some tree decals, but I think our walls might be too textured for it.
