My mom buys it for her house when LO's visit but I really only give them yogurt that's full fat without dyes! I typically give them plain yogurt and mix in our own fruit to avoid sugar rushes and crashes in the morning.

Healthy, lol. No way. Tube yogurts are tragically sugar filled. I tried so hard to avoid them, but they're just so useful when they're frozen. I switched to chobani, so at least my daughter is getting great protein with them. But healthy, no. Not at all.

@fancyfunction: @mediagirl: no joke. My old coworker's kids are 7 and 9 now. She never fed them McDonalds, etc. She's very crunchy. Her kids never ask for it, they think it's gross and would rather have sushi for lunch any day of the week than anything else. hahah She's kinda one of my mom heros! haha

I've noticed people tend to see the "good source of X" on the outside and think "hey it's healty!" Without reading the true ingredients. DH and I used to do this too. We started reading the ingredients when we shop and we were pretty shocked at the "healty" things we were buying.

I give LO yogurt a few times a week, it may not be the healthiest but she's going through a picky stage and she will eat that. There are much worse things she can eat. I guess I'm not overly picky about what she eats though, to an extent.

A lot of people say yogurt is healthy, but when you see that it has as much sugar as it does, it's really quite unhealthy.

I love the idea of squeezable yogurt--and we ate plenty of these, frozen, as kids--and I by no means make my own yogurt or anything, but I avoid Yoplait like the plague ;)

@Mrsbells: I love those little pouches! I really want to get some for J.

I avoid processed yogurt. I pretty much just buy the whole milk plain from 365 WF brand, it's a good deal I think and I just add fruit to his as well. He doesn't need sugar.

Also all those additives are sketchy... like the huffpo article said - many information on those ingredients is inconsclusive and my thinking is that until something is PROVED to be SAFE, why take the risk? Just because it hasn't *yet* proved harmful doesn't mean it is...

We use the Stoneyfield ones a couple times a week, but I'm defintely not going around claiming its some super healthy snack. I use them to get my son to ingest anything on days he doesn't eat. He'll usually get through half of one, just because its gimmicky. Personally I think sucking anything from a tube is gross.

@looch: I'm already dreading this since I send M's lunch and snacks to daycare and every other kid there gets the crap food they serve. When she gets to school age, we're sending her to a private school where parents have to provide lunches and snacks. While other kids may bring more unhealthy snacks and lunches, for the most part, problem solved.
