Thanks for all of the suggestions! Some of these are things she does get, but you've also given me some new ideas to try.

I think part of the problem is that she is not a big eater yet--and only wants to feed herself, so she consumes very little of stuff that needs a spoon. It feels like she eats just enough to make her backed up :( But my plan is to continue working on offering fiber-rich foods and as much liquid as she wants, and at some point it's got to work!

Prunes always worked for us as well as soft steamed broccoli and sweet potatos. Also avoided apples and applesauce.

Fruits & veggies are full of fiber!!! I've heard the ones starting with "P" are best: peaches, prunes, pears, etc.

Also, sorry you're dealing with the poop thing!! Our LO went through it. It sucks to have that be a worry.

My LO has the opposite problem! I do have to limit things like raisins, oatmeal, etc. Even when I imposed a 6 raisin per day limit it was an issue so try that!

Apples and applesauce are almost as binding as bananas and cheese and rice, and apples and rice are really common ingredients in baby food, so maybe check that if you use any purees or mum mums or puffs. Avoid those and I second adding pears, prunes, and flaxseed. Ground flax can be sprinkled almost anywhere.

I had to give my DD pureed prunes from around 7-15 months old? She always seemed constipated no matter how much fiber and water I tried to give her. Somehow it kind of cleared up after she started running around more.

DS loves prunes and dried fruit. He also eats granola for breakfast every morning for breakfast and has rarely been constipated except for times that he doesn't eat granola for a few days.

Prunes or prune baby food, and pears. Making sure to limit bananas, dairy, and rice. These are constipation specific.

As for fiber, Cheerios, sweet potatoes, apples, berries, pouches or baby cereal with fiber. Make sure to increase her fluid intake too!

We did prunes and my ped also recommended oatmeal. DS's first food was actually at 4 months because he was super constipated and uncomfortable. I puréed prunes with breastmilk and he really liked it.

Puréed prunes work great for us when LO was backed up and she loves them! Mangoes help - I but frozen chunks from TJs.

Bran muffins, flax seed, oatmeal and Greek yogurt and Culturelle for Kids (probiotic) all help.

Strangely enough, citrus fruits irritate he digestive track. I find that 1/2 cup of mandarin oranges are enough to help her go but not enough to increase the acidity to a point she gets diaper rash.

Berries, especially blueberries. Prunes mixed in with oatmeal. Sweet potatoes. Steamed broccoli spears cooked until soft. Sticky white rice cooked 50/50 with short grain brown rice.

I had to give my LO prunes every day for months. She liked them just puréed, but sometimes we mixed with yogurt too. Pears helped too. She has never been a big fan of juice either, but if I really want to get liquids in her she loves coconut water.

My 11 month old poops infrequently (every 3-7 days) and seems pretty uncomfortable leading up to and during poops. We've talked with the pediatrician about it and he's not concerned, but it would be great to help her feel more comfortable.

But I am trouble coming up with ideas of fiber-rich foods to offer her! (She refuses any type of juice. We sometimes give her miralax, but I would like to avoid that as a long-term solution.) What fiber-rich foods are a hit with your early eater?
