I had a 3 yr old when I had #2. The pregnancy was pretty good but I was just 3 yrs older and more tired... Can't complain at all. Having a newborn and preschooler were tough but I was so thankful for day care and having a desk to go and unwind at. I admire all the SAHP who don't get a break during the day... It was tough for a while but we got through it! What helped me was lowering my standards and letting to.

Having a newborn is way easier this time. Taking care of a newborn while trying to give a toddler the attention he has come to expect is the crazy-making part.

For me being pregnant with a toddler was actually the hardest part. Since I was already in kid-land adding another wasn't that bad. Of course it's tiring and more work but definitely manageable.

It's funny, I was calm with my first (I was confident that I could be nurturing and that it would come easy, but some parts were harder than I expected), terrified with my second (didn't know if I could handle two at the same time but it turns out, I most definitely could!) and calm again with my third pregnancy :) so it will probably be harder than I'm expecting (again) haha.

Pregnant with #2 right now and you are absolutely right about it being more difficult this time around. DD is 17 months and I am sooo fatigued this time around but I have to keep chasing her around. Last time I could lay down whenever I wanted when I wasn't feeling well, right now she's teething so naps are nonexistent so I get no breaks..

I really hope the other ladies are right that it was easier than they thought!!!

Thinking about going from 1 to 2 was a lot harder than actually going from 1 to 2!

The thought was definitely scary! But it has turned out to be so much easier than I imagined. Good luck TTC. :-)

I often hear a lot of women talk about how terrified they were to have their first baby, with the uncertainty of it all.

I personally had no doubts about being pregnant, being a mommy, etc. I dove right in to motherhood and was quite surprisingly a "natural" at it. I was not bothered by the crying, lack of sleep, maintaining a tidy, functional home..

HOWEVER, my daughter is now 2. Of course, we've been discussing having a second child.

It flat out terrifies me.

I had complications during my first pregnancy, and I am terrified of how I would deal with them if they happen again. With DD, I could relax on the couch when I was in pain, and had no worries when I was admitted to the hospital on multiple occasions. I just cannot imagine dealing with that now that I have a 2 year old.

I can't figure out how I will be able to look after my DD and a newborn at the same time, while still maintaining my sanity. I feel like I can *just* balance working full time, looking after DD, keeping a clean house & happy husband. I'm so scared I will not be able to strike such a balance when we have baby #2.

That being said, we are likely not going to TTC for another year or so. ..but this still plagues my mind on a daily basis.

So mommies out there who have 2+ kids..please share with me your experiences. What was harder than you thought?? Easier? What helped you? Did any of you feel the same way I do?
