@Bluebonnet and @mediagirl: When I was working I would breastfeed her if she woke up in the early morning, anytime she wakes in the middle of the night, and at bedtime. But since transitioning home, it's been all over the place. Lately we've been bottle feeding her before bedtime because she always seems to be behind a bottle. Pumping while at home is a little stressful, since I'm trying to pump on time and enough to keep up with her appetite.

I think i would rather breastfeed, but just worried she won't be getting enough then and then won't sleep through the night as well. I'm currently trying to build my supply back up, at least then I'll feel better about how much she's getting when she's back on the breast.

Thanks ladies!

I prefer breastfeeding when I am home and bottlefeeding when I am out. Its less bottles to wash that way!

I've always stayed home, but I bottle feed formula plus breastmilk at the breast or pumped...a little bit of everything. If I had your choice I would nurse only....it will probably be better for your supply and eliminates a step in the feeding process. You could always breastfeed but weigh her on an infant scale before and after. We got a good scale for about 50 bucks off amazon and I weigh at feedings every few days so I have an idea of what they get nursing. Plus its awesome for tracking their weight gain between dr visits.

Did you breastfeed when you were home with your lo at night or on weekends? Did you breastfeed overnight before? If it were me, I would go back to all breastfeeding b/c I find it to be easier. You ahve to do what is best for you, though. If you're worried about how much your lo is getting, keep pumping and doing bottles. If you think she is doing okay, I would go with breastfeeding.

I quit breastfeeding for a while and EP'ed. I hated pumping so much, I was happy to get back to breastfeeding when I could. I know that's not the same for everyone but, that was my experience. I love breastfeeding now.

When you were working did LO take a bottle in the mornings and evenings and on the weekends?

LO gets bottles when I'm at work, but I nurse her morning and night (and on the weekends). If I became a SAHM, I'd probably nurse more and pump less.

I think you should do what is easiest for you. For most people that is nursing, but if you like pumping, then stick to it!

Good luck with this transition!

LO is 6 months and I just went from a WOHM to SAHM, and trying to figure out if I should try to get LO back to breastfeeding or stick with pumping. I like the fact that pumping lets me see how much she is eating, but miss breastfeeding a little. Granted she doesn't breastfeed or take the bottle for that matter as well as before(very distractible baby), but I feel like my milk supply is dropping due to the change in my routine and not always being able to pump when I was at work.

Any other moms go through this transition of working and then staying home?
