Yep - my first cycle trying again after our miscarriage, I had sore breasts about 10 days after a positive ovulation test....and never get sore breasts as PMS. Was completely convinced I was preggo. Then, turns out that I was just gearing up to ovulate and that my first positive OPK was a fluke : / Didn't get pregnant until a few cycles later.

I've had a cycle where it seemed everything about my body was pointing to a BFP... and then nothing. It is so disappointing.

Ugh. I'm so sorry. That is the worst feeling, but it's SO hard to not let your hopes get up! I did that one month and thankfully since I was temping I had a heads up that AF was coming. Still doesn't make it any easier. It helps me though to remind myself to NOT symptom spot. It's just too easy to convince yourself you're pregnant. Plus, then the BFP will be even sweeter and more of a surprise :) Good luck to you!

Yeah I had the symptom spotting earlier too and thought it was delightful that my boobs hurt so much. Yep... just going off the pill. To be truthful, I hope AF comes soon because then at least I'll start being able to chart my cycles and get some semblance of an idea what's going on. I know it can take months, but I already had my withdrawal bleed and I'm hoping it doesn't take me ages to get my first period post-BC like I've heard from others :( That just might drive me nuts.

I thought I had developed that superhuman sense of smell that is associated with pregnancy because we came home from a two-week vacation and a slight smell from the fridge was driving me nuts (plus my DH couldn't smell anything). It turns out I just needed to clean the fridge and stick a box of baking soda in there. Oops.

Oh yes. This past cycle (cycle 4), I thought I saw some symptoms and was pretty optimisitc. Then, a day later than usual, AF arrived, and I had horrible cramps. I don't think I have had them that bad in years. Tough dose of reality there! (oh yeah, and it was my 30th birthday on top of that)

Oh no! Hope your feeling better!

My first cycle ttc I convinced myself I was pregnant but it was just crappy coming off the pill symptoms. I didn't make that mistake again.

I had a momentary flash of blind excitement on Monday morning when I woke up with awful nausea, got sick, and immediately felt better. "Ooh! Maybe it's morning sickness!" Even though if I was pregnant, it would only be a couple or so weeks along if that (I recently got off BC so I've no clue when I O'ed this cycle, if at all).

That excitement was quickly quashed when I got sick again 20 minutes later, DIDN'T feel better, and proceeded to get sick every 20 minutes until we went to the ER to get pumped full of fluids and sent home with anti-nausea meds. And then got on Facebook and found out our other friend had the same thing. And then remembered there was a baby at the New Year's Eve party we went to, who said friend and I were fawning all over, while her mom regaled us with stories of a nasty stomach virus that had recently ripped through her family at a wedding in Colorado.

Yeesh.

Anybody else had an optimistic moment only to be brought (violently) down to earth?
