We accidentally ran out of formula on her first birthday and switched to whole milk cold turkey. It went fine.

We switched and did half formula and half milk until we rean out of formula and then just went straight to milk. She had no issue transitioning and loved the cold milk.

We don't FF, but our doctor said we could start mixing BM and WCM (or alternative) at 11 months.

We started at 11 months, per our doctor. We mixed the formula and WCM in ounce by ounce, until she was on all milk by 12 months. It was fairly easy and painless.

We started around 11 months with our last container of formula. We'd mix 1 oz less of formula and top it off with milk. And lessened it more and more until he was on all milk.

I would try to give her some milk and see if she takes it cold turkey before I bothered with the mixing. I was all geared up to mix and our pediatrician suggested just trying it straight. If he rejected milk, we could always go back to mixing. He took right to milk and I didn't have to mess with it.

We mixed it with formula at 12 months...mostly because we still had formula left and I couldn't bear throwing it out. When it's done it's done!

We started cold turkey with milk at 12 mo. and she took to it right away. It did cause some constipation in the beginning though, but it worked itself out in a week or so.

Meh okay. Sounds like we'll start introducing some milk in a few weeks, then!

She's had a lot of milk products already and no issues so far! Just not a glass of cold milk necessarily.

Right after 12 months started by adding an oz of whole milk to the formula and then upping the milk ratio every few days. He got some eczema and then a tummy bug so we backed off and started again at 13 months. It took a few weeks to get him fully on cows milk. Then we transitioned off the bottle.

We have a ton left due to poor planning on our part! We are planning to donate the extra. We started mixing formula & milk at 12 months to get him acclimated. He started to drink milk only bottles around 13 or 13.5 months...

I finished off what we had in the house. I honestly didn't stress to much because we were using a milk based formula anyway.

I totally did this wrong! I basically used up just about all my formula then switched cold turkey to milk at 12 months + a few days. And DS totally rejected it. I had to buy another small can of formula so I could mix milk & formula together over the next two weeks.

Next time I will start mixing before I run out.

We started offering milk with her meals to get her use to it at 11 months. I am going to cut her afternoon bottle starting tomorrow (going to send one just in case). Have day care offer milk and a snack instead. We have one and half containers left and I am not buying another. 12 days till 1!

We started the switch just before 12 months. We actually mix formula and milk to adjust him to the taste, mainly because I have a box of formula left over and want to use it up!
At this point I just put a little formula with milk in his bedtime bottle, the formula will run out next week and that will be it.
My LO is kind of a finicky eater though so thats why i was so gradual about it.I'm sure you can just make the transition cold turkey without too much trouble!

We switched probably at 12 months + 1 week because that's when we ran out of formula. I would have been open to switching 1-2 weeks before 12 months, but otherwise would have bought a new can.

We didn't do any mixing of milk + formula. Just as soon as the last bottle of formula was done, the next bottle was milk! Worked fine for L, but she's pretty fabulous with eating + drinking, so I didn't anticipate any problems

How did you make this transition? E is 1 year on April 5. Did you start at 12 months? 11 months?

We have one 48 oz container of formula left for the house, which makes 356 ounces (or 60 6oz bottles) plus whatever our daycare ladies have (half a container probably). She's taking less formula as we go on. I feel like it's enough to get us to 12 months or just shy of....I was debating buying another canister, but i feel like it's kind of pointless.
