@T.H.O.U.: They adjust my entire back/neck in one appointment. I hope you enjoy it, I love going to the chiropractor!

@T.H.O.U.: honestly, he should be able to adjust everything in one session - mine did and still does! I would just ask if there's something he can do to help get your body back into whack after miscarrying. Tell him your cycle has been abnormal and you're wondering if there's anyway to help that with some adjustments. I've never met a chiropractor that wouldn't have some sort of advice for you.

@Ash: thanks! How do you think it works for asking for a pelvic adjustment? Would I need a separate appointment or could he maybe do it all at once?

@T.H.O.U.: It's mainly because I'm shy and TYC was very personal and private for me. My chiropractor at the time was pretty professional, but I just didn't feel comfortable sharing that information. I'm with a different practice now, and I feel much more comfortable here, perhaps because the practitioners are women and they work in prenatal chiropractic as well (my old one did not).

@Ash: I love going to the chiropractor. I go about 1-2 times a month for adjustments and electric stim. I guess I can imagine it could help with fertility issues. I don't know why... but this subject just makes me giggle a little... Grow up, Mrs. McD!!

@MrsMcD: I work in healthcare so I guess I'm a little more comfortable with males... I think of them the same as a female. :) As for the conversation, I sat down and told mine I had been trying to get pregnant since having a m/c, and we weren't having any luck. Plain and simple. I felt like my body was out of whack. And obviously it was. :) Not everyone believes in it but I do.

@blackbird: a neck adjustment might not help get a persone pregnant... but a pelvic adjustment can. ;) Everything needs to be in line for things to happen.

I guess I didn't see it pertinent to getting an adjustment unless you'd been trying awhile.

That being said, I've known mine for years and he knew all about my mcs but it wasn't like getting my neck adjusted got me pregnant. Feels irrelevant.

Just isn't a first visit talk to a new chiro to me. I know mine well enough now, though. And I took my baby to him when she was a week old and we are seeing him tomorrow. I just wouldn't volunteer it to a new chiro I guess...

Good luck with your neck! Mine is in bad shape and chiropractic care was amazing while pregnant.

I was a chiropractic assistant for 3 years. My doctor was male and very professional! I would share that information! We even gave adjustments to pregnant mommies and newborn babies. Chiropractors are pretty big on natural vitamins and supplements- they may even be able to recommend some that could help and that would be good for your body!

It can always be a little nerve racking your first time. No need! Adjustments are amazing!

@Ash: Call me a prude, but my only male doctor is my eye doctor. And I suppose I never think of chiropractors as doctors. But that's so wrong of me, I know. You all have opened my eyes to the world of chripractor-y! But still... I want to know how the conversation gets started with the chiropractor.... Maybe if I went to one in a different town I could do it...

BE VERY OPEN!!! :) They are doctors.
I was going to my chiropractor for about a year prior to going for getting KU... but I hadn't gone in about 6 months. I broke down in tears and told him about our miscarriage and the trouble we've had ttc since then. He scheduled my adjustments around my cycle and had me start taking b complex (and another pill he recommended I take but didn't). He had me go for one month every couple weeks and then scheduled me to come when AF arrived and 2 weeks later (assuming O was nearby). And it worked for me!! Next month: BFP and I have him to thank.

Especially after you having a miscarriage, I believe your body could need some readjusting. I'd definitely bring it up!!

@SweetMamaM: is also proof the chiropractor can help with getting your body back into whack.

Good luck, love! <3

How can you help!" Hahaha...Oh my gosh... I would die. Someone please tell me how you've brought up that topic with your male chiropractor!!

@evansjamie: @blackbird: Just curious, why wouldn't you share that? I have heard here that some have found the chiro services have helped with leading to BFP. Its not why I am going, but this kink in my neck certainly can't be helping our TTC.

I did share that - if your chiropractor is like mine then they want a holistic picture of body health. With my particular alignment issue (Category 2 sacro-iliac separation) one of the symptoms is how it effects the reproductive system. I don't think it's any coincidence that two months after starting to see the chiropractor I got my :bfp: . It's also important to discuss your family plans with them as they may decide like mine to use diagnostic techniques other than x-ray at that time.

I probably wouldn't share that information. ETA: You might not get an adjustment at your first appointment. It may just be x-rays/diagnostics and then they go over it with you at the next appointment.

My back is out so I am going to the chiro for the first time on Monday. We are also TTC so I'm not sure I should bring it up to see if he could help. The appointment would be right around the time of ovulation (seems to be delayed a bit this month).

Any suggestions of what to ask or share?
