I'd say car seat and snap n go also. I think at 6 months they're still so little they don't really "need" to see anything. I definitely wouldn't but a new stroller just for the trip

I'm surprised that everyone is saying to use the snap and go. That would obviously be the cheapest option since we have it already.

My son has great head control and sits pretty well. I thought he might prefer getting to see everything in an umbrella stroller vs just staring up at us. Plus I'm worried about the sun being in his eyes using the snap n go. I took him out today in the sun and the light was in his eyes bothering him. I know in Vegas that will definitely be the case.

Hmmm...now torn.

@Ginabean3: Same.
I would want to keep the carseat stroller handy esp. if he is used to napping in it. We loved our chicco and used it for almost 10 months when he finally outgrew it and was looking ridiculous a huge baby in a tiny carseat :happy: . It was so convenient while traveling and about to throw a blanket over handle and let him take naps.

@Ginabean3: Ditto!
We traveled at that age and carseat/snap and go were perfect. We have the same bag as Ginabean and it's fine.
Some hotels may even have strollers available to borrow.

I would bring the snap and go and your carseat. I would gate check both. (what airline are you using?) We bought these bags to put our carseat/snap and go in:

http://www.amazon.com/Childress-Gate-Check-Bag-Seats/dp/B000RRD7UG/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1394236975&sr=1-2

They make one for strollers too.

I don't know if I would bring an umbrella stroller for a 6 mo old...does your LO have good head control? My LO loved sleeping in her carseat so having the snap n go actually worked great for us (we travelled internationally at 10 months and NEEDED to bring a car seat)

No advise really... just bumping. :)

Yeah I'm not sure I would bring a car seat for a 6 month old. We had a baby car seat / stroller combo (orbit baby) so we usually bring both because that was rating till he was a year old. I'm not sure what we would have done if we had a separate car seat and stroller because I was pretty paranoid as a new mom.

Now that he's 2 we probably wouldn't bring the car seat.

So I probably should've asked this awhile ago, but leave it to me to do everything at the last minute.

We are leaving for Las Vegas on Thursday. We'll be there until Sunday. I've been there many times before, but now I'm bringing a 6 month old - and it's the first time we've ever traveled on a plane with him.

So my questions are:

1. What type of stroller to bring? We have a Chicco Snap & Go and a Bumbleride Flyer - both of which I don't think are the right fit for our trip. I think I'd like to get an umbrella stroller. What would you recommend for a 6 month old? And do you recommend a specific travel bag?

2. I'd ideally love to skip bringing his carseat since the only time we'll be in a car is the cab from the airport to the hotel, but I have a feeling that's probably not a good idea. If you recommend bringing it, how did you travel with it? What bag do you have? I have a Chicco Keyfit 30.

I appreciate any advice you have!! I'm going to have a lot of shopping to do on Amazon ASAP.
