Hmmm I mean obviously a doctor knows more than I do. But I personally would get a 2nd opinion at another clinic since I've heard conflicting opinions on this topic.

Personally, I would not want to do it while breastfeeding. I would be too concerned about the effects in both directions.

@CatchAFallingStar: Our RE will not begin any treatments while you are breastfeeding (honour system I suppose) as some research indicates a higher chance of miscarriage. If your RE is comfortable with the plan and you are then go for it.

I had no idea you could pursue fertility treatments while still breastfeeding. I'm going to follow along to see what others say. Good luck! I plan to stop nursing my girl at a year just so I can start thinking about baby number 2.

So, the main RE was out of the office when I had my first visit for baby #2 this week. The doctor I had said she didn't think there was any reason we couldn't proceed with injectable gonadotropins while I'm breastfeeding my 27-month-old because the hormones are human hormones and are substances my body makes anyway. My daughter is also down to only nursing 2-3 times a day for a few minutes each time. Wondering if anyone has experience taking these types of drugs while nursing.
