I was set on LG front loader and the knowledgeable sales person at Best Buy sold me on Samsung. Had it for over 2 years and no regrets. We also opened a best buy charge and did two years free financing.

We have a top loading LG ... Front loaders start to smell a lot easier!

We used to have front loading LGs, which I loved. Now we have front loading Electrolux machines, and I really love these too! I favor the Electrolux for the (1) 18 min wash/dry cycle, and (2) bigger capacity. But I don't thnk you can go wrong either way!

LG and Samsung make quality washers and dryers. I have a basic no frills Samsung front loader, and it works very well. We have had it for over 3 years with no issues. Look out for deals at your local home improvement stores. If you find a good deal at Lowe's, you can open their credit card and save 5% on your purchase.

@MrsBrewer: That looks similar to ours! Both our washer and dryer have a steam setting which has saved us a ton of time and money with delicates and dry clean only items.

I love my top loading Maytag bravos. It was really important we have a soak cycle since we are thinking about cloth diapers. I love it and haven't had any issues with it in the last year and a half.

@MamaMoose: @Cara M. 17: I'm actually leaning towards a front loading LG

We love our front loading LG. Not super budget friendly but I think they had less expensive options than what we got. Plus we opened a Best Buy credit card and got two years interest free financing.

Does anyone have opinions for top loading vs front loading?

Our washine machine broke....boo! The entire seal under the bottom of the tub is leaking, and the metal part is all rusted out. It's old, and it's just time for a new one. But it's really bad timing for us money wise!

Any suggestions for a good quality washing machine. Low budget, and I don't need anything fancy. I just want clean clothes! Oh but it must be Energy Star certified, that's one thing I won't budge on!
